Title: Extremely Rare Abercrombie and Fitch Oval Pusher Steel Chronograph

Description: EXCELLENT condition.  Small size with a tight three piece steel case has not been buffed and is nearly new old stock. There are a few faint scuffs on the bezel and some tool mark scratches on the back but the edges are sharp and the original finish in place. You can see that it is signed with the store name which is rare for private label (dept. or jewelry store named) watches. Most are only signed on the dial or sometimes dial and movement. Few are triple signed (Tiffany is one). Gorgeous dial has been professionally refinished and is one of the nicest chrono dials I have seen. Oval pushers and signed Valjoux hand wound Swiss made shock protected chronograph movement. Runs great and has a nice Croc strap attached. Measures 33 mm wide (not including the crown) x 39 mm long x 12 mm thick. {1275} Item #5053 SOLD

Title: Wonderful Ladies YGF Acme Bracelet Watch Serviced

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Neat watch from the 1960's with a fancy and well made heavy gold plated bracelet and case. Large enough for about any wrist. The Swiss made hand wound movement works perfectly as it has been fully serviced, oiled and timed by our watchmaker. The pink dial has been professionally refinished/repainted. A real nice unusual piece of vintage jewelry with a gorgeous watch attached. Really good looking in person. Measures 18 mm wide (not including the crown) x 30 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$230} Item #5125 SOLD

Title: Nice Bulova Accutron, Circa 1967

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Got this watch a couple of weeks ago and put a new battery inside and watched it. It is keeping really good time so far which seems to be somewhat rare with old Accutron watches. They were the first battery or non-mechanical watches and used a tuning fork for accurate timekeeping. You can hear it humming in a high pitch if you hold it up to your ear. This is a Caliber 214, commonly called a back set as the setting mechanism is on the back. See what the movements look like by clicking on this example of a Bulova Spaceview Accutron. which is a see through version we've sold in the past. No crown. Perfect original gold dial. Lightly scuffed and nicked middle body. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 13.5 mm thick. {$169} Item #5756 SOLD

Title: Bulova Spaceview Accutron Circa 1964

Description: VERYGOOD condition. From the original owner, not a watch collector or dealer. I have not checked the case number but I believe that this is an original spaceview, not a conversion. It runs great and has light wear including some scuffs on the original spaceview crystal. Bulova Accutron watches were the first electric or battery operated time pieces, along with the Hamilton electric and they were extremely expensive and unique in their day and still are. Using a tuning fork for the important part Bulova avoided timing problems caused by the traditional balance wheel which the Hamilton Electrics still used. Nice shape with average wear on the yellow gold filled case. This watch has a high pitched whine which is the fork. A new Hadley Roma strap is attached. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$325} Item #5245 SOLD

Title: Bulova Spaceview Accutron in YGF Case

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Circa 1965. Steel back, reference 2387. Gold filled middle body. Spaceviews are Accutrons with no dial. So you can see the "works". Notice the functional tuning fork under the center  pinion? This one was most likely converted to a spaceview in its earlier days. Runs great and keeps good time. Bargain priced for a quick sale. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$275} Item #5049 SOLD

Title: Wonderful Original Bulova Accutron Spaceview, Circa 1963

Description: VERYGOOD condition.  Rare original steel spaceview with new old stock steel Accutron bracelet. Some scuffs. Mint original see through dial. These early battery watches used a tuning fork to regulate the frequency and time. You can hear them humming when put to your ear at a high pitched tuning fork tone. Model 214's are back set like this one and any good 214 movement will work for parts if ever needed. A new battery has been installed. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$350} Reduced by $100 Item #4999 SOLD

Title: Nice Charcoal Dial Bulova Accutron

Description: GOOD condition. Nice vintage watch in a yellow gold plated 218 case. 218's have the crown on the side instead of the back like 214's. This is one of the last tuning fork movements made, circa 1974. Very fun watch to wear and show to non watch friends. Hums at a high pitch. This one came from a watchmaker's collection and keeps good time. I've added a nice new black leather strap. Measures 35.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$115} Item #5392 SOLD

Title: Wonderful Hard to Find Bulova Astronaut w/Bracelet

Description: VERYGOOD condition. It takes awhile to find these with accurate timekeeping abilities but we have and this watch has been checked out completely by our watchmaker and keeps superb time. I have been checking it now for over a month. Near perfect original aged black dial. Excellent steel case only has some minor scuffs and dates from 1965. Bracelet looks original and is signed but the end pieces don't look like a perfect fit to me so it is possible they or parts of the bracelet have been put together although this is just how we found it. These watches are selling for $900 and up on the vintage market place. Measures 38 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$525} Item #4928 SOLD

Title: Wonderful 1968 Stainless Steel Bulova Accutron

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Most dealers would call this nearmint. It is just really nice with the finest 214 original dial have have seen in some time. It is silvered with superb original minute track and tiny lightly aged lum dots. The hands are original too with matching, lightly aged luminescent material. My watchmaker Wayne has gone through this watch and I purchased it only because it keeps excellent time (generally I avoid Accutrons). After two weeks I have seen no error or discrepancy from our atomic clocks. Less than one second a day from what I can see. Bulova Accutron watches were one of the very first battery watches made and the method used is tiny coils, a transistor and a steel tuning fork which vibrates at a consistent rate. All steel with a new battery installed. This watch is set on the back (Caliber 214). Very attractive timepiece from the 1960's in superb condition! A brand new Hadley Roma 881 oil tan strap with a stainless steel buckle is attached. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 39 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$260} Item #5375 SOLD

Title: Large Solid Gold Bulova Accutron AS FOUND

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Nice watch, very large circa 1968. Beautiful original dial and hands. Both mint, dial and hands. Signed gold crown. Needs some adjustment, service or repair as our watchmaker does not work on Accutrons much but has installed new batteries. It runs great, just real fast. This is the original box and the watch hails from the son of the original owner. Measures 35.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$299} Item #4809 SOLD

Title: New Old Stock Stainless Steel Bulova Accutron Astronaut w/Box and Signed Bracelet

Description: What a beautiful piece. Made in 1968. It does not appear to have ever been sold or worn. A few very small nicks on the back from a little shop wear. The original Accutron bracelet is stainless steel and quite unique. I have some close-ups of it on the "back page". Click on the image to the left. Original inner and outer box. A battery comes with it.  Measures 38 mm wide (not including the crown) x 38 mm long x 13 mm thick. $575 $475 Item #2337 SOLD LS

Title: Vietnam (Camranh Bay) Bulova Accutron Astronaut w/Bracelet, 2 Boxes and All Papers!

Description: A fine collectible with fantastic provenance. Dated 1968 (M8 date code on back) and purchased in Feb. of 1970 by a Captain Lowell. P. Little Jr. in the PX at Camranh,  Vietnam.  Solid steel case in 95% plus condition. Excellent solid steel link Accutron bracelet which is tapered toward the clasp. All papers, warranties, instruction booklets and manuals are included. Inner and outer boxes. Hack set 214 (back set) tuning fork movement works great. Battery hatch opening tool. Mint original dial. Near mint early bakelite type bezel which rotates for a second time zone. A wonderful watch with this kind of original material! It measures 38 mm wide x 40 mm long x 14 mm thick.  {$675} Item #3357 SOLD BI

Title: Cool "Bow Tie" Bulova Accutron in Steel

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Absolutely one of the most attractive Accutrons I have seen with this extra nice (refinished) white dial, Roman numerals and unusual extra clean steel case. Regulated by the watchmaker and given a new battery. Keeps decent time for a 35 year old tuning fork watch. Signed crown. Measures 36 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$149} Item #3696 SOLD TO QY

Title: Bulova Accutron Spaceview

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Gold filled top with a steel back. Nice piece with hard to find signed gold filled Accutron bracelet. Runs fine and has a new Accucell battery. Probably a conversion as this was often done at the jewelers (Bulova watch store) with the correct conversion Accutron crystal. These watches (Accutrons) have high pitched tuning forks, seen at the six in this skelitonized "Spaceview". Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 41 mm long x 14 mm thick. {$399} {$329} Item #4482 SOLD

Title: Nice Steel 1976 Bulova Railroad Approved Accutron

Description:  A very slick collectors piece in excellent condition. Tuning fork movement (218/crown on side) runs like a champ and the case condition is almost mint from original. What I mean is that it has never been buffed or even worn much from what I can see. One long scratch on the back and a ding on the edge of the signed crown. All original finish. Original slightly used black Accutron signed leather strap. No signed buckle.  Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$275} Item #SF04 SOLD JD

Title: Super Cool Green Dial Bulova "214" Accutron

Description: EXCELLENT condition. I believe that the little white dots or spots on this dark green dial are some form of age but they are so evenly spaced out that the dial appears to be made this way and resembles a Longines "Galaxy" type dial, to my eye. I like it. It looks pretty nice  with the white hands and crown free design. This is a back set or 214 caliber tuning fork battery operated timepiece made in 1970. The steel case is in nice condition with some scuffs here and here and the watch is keeping good time. Measures 36 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$149} Item #3797 SOLD TO TG

Title: Nice Steel 1966 Bulova Railroad Approved Accutron

Description: EXCELLENT condition. A very slick collectors piece in excellent condition. Tuning fork movement (214/crown to set is on the back of the watch) runs like a champ, keeping very good time and the case is in excellent condition also.  Desirable "Canadian" or 24hr dial is perfect. A brand new black leather strap is attached. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) 41 mm long 13 mm thick. {$269} Item #4269 SOLD TO RT

Title: Railroad Approved Bulova Accutron, Circa 1976

Description: VERYGOOD condition. This is a good-looking affordable railroad approved time piece with a 10k rolled gold plated case and the rarer Canadian 24hr inner dial in red. It has normal scuffs from use and is dated to 1976 with the Bulova date code "N6" seen on the back. This is a hack set battery powered tuning fork movement and it is keeping good time (for an Accutron) showing half a minute or so slow per 24hr period. It has a date, which changes exactly at midnight. It is a "slow set" and so the hour hand must be moved past midnight to change. This type of Accutron is very collectible and rarely offered at this price by other dealers. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$229} Item #4170 SOLD GG

Title: Heavy Asymmetrical 14k Bulova Accutron

Description: NEARMINT condition. "Alpha" model is strikingly simple with its unique downward pointing case design. Solid yellow gold, model 214 or back set Accutron. Dated 1961/M1 on the back. A very early tuning fork watch in rare condition. A brand new Hadley Roma 835 Alligator Grain strap is attached. Measures 33 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x  mm thick. {$725} {$575} Item #3690 SOLD HS

Title: Beautiful Hard To Find Dr's "Pulsations" Accutron

Description: EXCELLENT condition. This is a really nice watch with a perfect original dial. The gold filled case has a steel back and is about 85% with scuffs here and there but the dial is 99% and really nice to look at. My favorite part about this "214" model is that it is keeping superb time. This early (1966) Doctor's timepiece has a fantastic look with it's symmetrical shape (the setting crown is on the back) and aesthetic rare dial. We have added a new Hadley Roma 835 gator tail strap and a new gold tone deployant clasp. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$375} Item #3857 SOLD WJW

Title: Ladies Gold and Diamond Angelus

Description: NEARMINT condition. Made in the 50's or 60's this nice Swiss watch has 14 fairly large (for a ladies watch) clean white diamonds. These diamonds are more valuable than the rough cut you will find on older watches. Solid 14k gold and fully marked. Small bracelet which is about 6 and 1/4 inches long so a wrist of about 5 and 1/2 to 5 and 3/4 inches will fit. Measures 15 mm wide (not including the crown) x 17 mm long x 7 mm thick. {$425} Item #3661 SOLD BB

Title: Aquastar Regate Yachting Watch AS FOUND

Description: GOOD condition. From one of our customers and scuffed up pretty good along with some deep nicks on the backs and sides of the lugs. All steel with a Swiss made automatic shock protected chronograph movement which counts down 5 minutes with the red dots. This model might need a little TLC although it works fine and keeps time. The original silvered dial shows a bit of age around the indices. Signed crown. Back is individually serial numbered and Heuer sold this watch later with their name. A great value and good investment! Measures 38 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 15 mm thick. {$475} Item #5441 SOLD

Title: Extra Nice Thin Astorex 25 jewel Super Automatic AS FOUND

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Recently the property of a collector. I think that this is a really neat watch because it is so thin for an automatic. The ETA 2472 full rotor, shock protected, 25 ruby jewel, full rotor movement is only thick in the center where the rotor is attached, so the case designer kept the profile thin except for the middle where it goes up, kind of like a short, flat topped volcano. Steel back, gold plated main body, beautiful original silvered dial, old style quick set (move the hour hand past mid-night, back past nine and repeat), and makes a great back up for parts on the hard to find and extremely valuable Doxa Sharkhunter and Sub watches which use the same movement exactly. It takes a 19mm strap and the one on it is old, maybe even the original but it is genuine vintage alligator so you may have it and a new one,  up to $30 from our accessories page. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 10.5 mm thick in the center, 8 mm thick on the edge. {$269} Item #5780 SOLD

Title: European 25j Swiss Made Atomik Hercule Soccer Watch

Description: GOOD condition. Cool watch found in Europe and sold to the public there, not in North America. Steel back has a soccer player on it which is different and the main body is chrome plated and has nicks everywhere but no wear through to brass that I can see. Runs good and is a decent size. Old style quick set date works by moving the hour hand past midnight, back to nine and repeat. Signed crown. A new DeBeer Paris sport leather strap is included. Measures 35.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$109} Item #5563 SOLD

Title: Sweet 25j Ball Official RR Standard Trainmaster, Ca. 1960's

Description: EXCELLENT condition. It is hard not to like a vintage time piece with a dial like this and all the attributes of modern automatic watches. The Ball movement (ETA 2632) has a full winding rotor, 25 jewels, Incabloc shock protection, hack setting with easy to see red second hand, springless double click wheel (Eterna patent), one piece screwless balance beating 21,600 times per hour and a long running reserve. I'm pretty sure that the modern ETA movement we all see in practically every watch made these days, cannot offer much more as far a functionality or technical innovations. Pristine mint plus original dial which many think is porcelain like the old pocket watch dials but in fact is just a really high grade glossy white and black paint. You just have to own a Ball Trainmaster before you can appreciate why they are so popular. All steel case was definitely used by the owner who also has his initials on the back RSB. So, even though we've lightly buffed the case the scuffs and nicks from original use are still evident. Wayne has gone through the movement checking it for problems, dirt and regulated it for accurate timekeeping. The crown is a modern replacement as is the crystal, both new. Wayne has also added new gaskets and noted the Ball signed case reference #842347. On a brand new Hadley Roma MS 882 padded Breitling style black leather strap. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 10.5 mm thick. {$479} Item #6027 SOLD

Title: SS Ball Official Standard Trainmaster Serviced

Description: VERYGOOD condition. This is a great bargain for someone who wants one of these watches but doesn't want to pay the usual $600 price. Perfect white dial with highly legible black Arabic numerals, black hands and a red second hand. The steel case is perfect on top with the original satin finish but does have some light pitting on the back. This is from the original owner who had caustic sweat. We see that often on tool watches as this was made to be worn by engineers, conductors and train masters while at work. It does not affect the water resistant integrity of the screw back case, just the aesthetics. The 25j Ball (base caliber ETA 2822) automatic movement has been fully serviced, oiled and timed by our watchmaker and comes with a one year service warranty. A new crystal and crown have also been installed. A brand new Hadley Roma black leather perforated sporting style strap with a steel buckle is included but you may choose something different if you want. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$449} Item #5571 {$389} SOLD

Title: Ball Trainmaster Official Standard Automatic

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Nice steel watch with a well made 25 jewel Swiss made movement, dust cover with iron ring for anti-magnetism and unusual mint 13-24 red, black and white dial. The watch runs great and keeps good time and still hacks like it should. Clear clean crystal. Seldom seen variation of a highly desirable railroad grade time piece. Known for its legibility. Priced slightly less than others seen here because the original finish has been buffed (the tops are born with a radial brushed look). Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 41 mm long x 10.5 mm thick. {$649} Item #5545 SOLD

Title: Ball Official Railroad Standard Automatic Serviced

Description: VERYGOOD/EXCELLENT condition. These are beautiful watches with easily read white dials and large black Arabic numerals and a red second hand. Screw on backs keep the watch water and dust resistant and the 25j hack set automatic movement which has been fully serviced, oiled and timed by Wayne the watchmaker, also features a dust cover which has an anti-magnetic ring inside of it. A nice Hadley Roma self lined strap is attached with a HR buckle upgrade. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$575} Item #5572 SOLD

Title: Stainless Steel Ball Trainmaster Automatic

Description: EXCELLENT condition. A beautiful watch with a mint original dial, nearmint steel case and fantastic high grade 25 jewel automatic movement. These are known for perfect legibility with their bright white dials and contrasting black hands and Arabic numerals. Also, if you click on the image to the left you see a dust cover with a heavy iron ring attached to the inside. This was to counter magnetism. An anti-magnetic feature. These watches and other railroad approved watches were actually used by train masters just before the quartz revolution. A brand new smooth black leather strap is attached. Keeps good time and has been checked out by our watchmaker. Add $75 for a full service which comes with a one year warranty. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 41 mm long x 10.5 mm thick. {$695} Item #5539 SOLD

Title: Wonderful Ball Official Standard Rail Road Approved Serviced

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Almost nearmint and in fantastic condition overall. Mint plus white enamel dial with easy to read dark shiny black Arabic numerals. Dark black hands except the second hand which is red. Excellent steel screw back case does have some light scratches but nothing major. We have buffed it very lightly. These watches also include anti-magnetic dust covers which have iron rings to combat magnetism which is a problem with any mechanical watch when it is around electro magnetic machines (most of our popular machines create some kind of magnetic field). Original crown and superb 25 jewel full rotor Ball Watch Co. (base caliber ETA 2632) ball bearing movement which has been fully serviced, oiled and timed by our watchmaker and comes with a one year service warranty. Check it out. Click on the image to the left. When vintage watches are serviced over and over again we see "wash out" on the nickel plated case plates, bridges and rotor. This has no fading and has seen mild to little use in its life. A brand new sporty black leather Hadley Roma MS893 strap with red stitching to match the second hand and a thick sporty steel buckle is attached. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$595} Item #5283 SOLD

Title: New Old Stock Ball Railroad Wristwatch

Description: NEARMMINT/MINT condition. Very close to mint condition with some very faint scuffs on the polished sides. It doesn't appear to have ever been opened as there are no tool marks on the slotted screw on back. All steel in two parts, back and main body. Original mint crown which is easy to grip and mint acrylic crystal, mint original dial, mint original hands and mint 25 jewel Swiss made automatic movement. These watches have Ball Official Standard Trainmaster on the dial and were made for Engineers who need an accurate time keeper to avoid leaving the train station too early to too late. This model or RR grade watch hacks to aid in exact setting. That means that when you pull out the crown, the second hand stops. This feature if fairly rare in wristwatches and is mostly seen on military issue timepieces. It keeps excellent time and comes with a one year service warranty. A brand new $120 DeBeer Paris hand made matte finished genuine crocodile strap with a stainless steel buckle is attached. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$775} Item #5418 SOLD

A brand new black Hadley Roma strap with a gold plated stainless steel buckle is attached. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$465} Item #5100 SOLD

Previously buffed gold filled case is in good condition and was waterproof in its day. Hand wound Swiss made movement is running strong and keeping good time. Click on the image to the left for close-up photos. A brand new black leather strap with a gold plate over steel buckle is attached. A wee bit of paint is missing on the top of the dial. Not very noticeable with the naked eye. Notice the inner dust cover which also helps magnetism and the hack set, shock protected, 21 jewel adjusted movement. It is running great and keeping time. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$425} Item #4963 SOLD

Title: Outstanding Ball Official Standard Trainmaster

Description: NEARMINT condition. Almost new old stock with caveats. A watch may be considered new old stock and still have marks or scratches. How is this so? We look at several different factors other than the external appearance. This fine piece has not been buffed as evidenced by the original circular sand marks on the screw back. It has not been serviced as there are no service marks on the inside of the back. The movement is also pristine. We can see this (from a layman's view) by looking at the blue screws and other screws for burr marks and other signs of service. But, there are many small nicks and scuffs here and there on the case. Most are not highly noticeable and in fact, you can see them in the close-up photos by clicking on the small image to the left. The 25j Swiss automatic movement keeps good time and hacks as it should. A super cool Hirsch "sportline" black strap is included. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$675} Item #4464 TRADED

This is really a nice little Swiss chronograph with a super cool original tachymeter/telemeter dial and hands, steel snap on back, chrome plated body and bezel and Venus movement. Signed Banner on the case back and chronograph bridge. Pretty nice condition for an old 1940's not so water or dust proof watch. Title: Affordable Two Register Baylor Steel Chronograph AS FOUND

Description: GOOD condition. Hard to find a steel Swiss made screw back, round pusher vintage chronograph for this price. That runs good anyway. The non-luminescent silvered dial is original and looks fantastic with no signs of age. Title: Extra Nice Benrus Double Date Pointer w/Box

Description: EXCELLENT condition. These small or medium (for vintage) sized watches are a great start for collectors who wish to focus on "complications". Mechanical movements with additional functions, besides telling time, are more difficult to design and build. So much so, that one of the ultimate complications which we take for granted now, the automatic chronograph, was not even invented until the 1960's. See one of these in this example of a Heuer/Buren micro-rotor. Heuer Carrera. Anyway, this is a good AFFORDABLE place to start your collection. This Benrus is original with some superficial age on the two part gold plated and stainless steel (snap on back) case, super nice original two tone silvered and beige dial, clean working Benrus hand wound movement with quick set day of the month hand (push in crown) and day of the week at noon. A new DeBeer Paris 16 mm strap and a Benrus box from the shop which matches the era (about 1950) is also included. The box is missing the small red velvet insert. Measures 30.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 36 mm long x 11.5 mm thick. {$269} Item #5914 SOLD

A real nice extra thin Hadley Roma dark brown leather strap with a matching stainless steel buckle is attached. Add $75 for full service, oil and time which comes with a one year warranty. PS. Some might say "who is Benrus?" but they have had some real special watches over the last century including the Sky Chief, a rare chronograph, the Dial O Rama and an extra rare and fantastic military issue watch the Type I and Type II just to name a few. Measures 33.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 7 mm thick. {$289} Item #5588 SOLD

Title: Hard to Find 1950's Benrus Dial-o-Rama Serviced

Today the market has shown an appreciation for any Swiss watch with a unique perspective (digitals, world timers, gmts, chronographs, triple dates, moon phases and other complications). Title: One of a Kind Sterling Silver Benrus w/Pierced Shield

Description: EXCELLENT condition. This is not a watch you will ever see again. It was hand made by an American artisan from an original sterling silver Benrus timepiece. The pierced shield portion of this watch has been added expertly to the case. The jewelers' level of skill is incredible and I have been told that he refuses to attempt this design again. The labor involved rules out a second effort. Hand wound Swiss made Benrus signed movement and signed sterling silver case. Nice black Benrus dial. Measures 30 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 8 mm thick. {$425} Item #3820 SOLD DM

Title: Benrus Day Date w/Pointer

Description: EXCELLENT condition. These are very cool watches and still a super investment. Complicated timepieces are hard to find and usually much more expensive. The dial is extra nice and probably was refinished although most might assume it is original as it has "swiss" on the bottom and the text and fine detail were exceptionally well done. The outside day of the month section is a thicker cream kind of layer. The gold filled top is in great shape but does have faint scuffs. Excellent look overall and in perfect running condition and may have the original bracelet. The third hand with the red tipped pointer is quickly changed with a push of the crown. We rarely see solid gold wire lug watches in any condition and this is pretty sharp for the age. High grade Swiss made movement and special sideways design add value. The large (for the era) three piece case is chrome plated with a steel back. It too is almost perfect. The cool hand wound Swiss movement shows a bit more age but runs great and has a unique hand engraving on it. Probably from a retailer who sold these watches at their store. In other words, this is hardly or barely visible to the naked eye. Completely gone through by our watchmaker and regulated to keep time. This is a hand wound Swiss time piece from about 30 years ago. Title: Rare Oversized 18k Pink Gold Breitling Chronograph

Description: VERYGOOD condition. We have had really nice pink gold Breitling chronographs before, seen here....or here.... and they have sold quickly too but they weren't this model. This one is extra large and with the original black dial. It does show some general evenly spread age plus two spots just left of the center pinion (where hands attach and over the 7). They have a spot of black paint on them which was a repair of sorts ages ago. Almost perfect pink fully signed snap back case. And the original hands do have some light corrosion. The typical Breitling (Landeron Caliber 39 Swiss made) chronograph movement is not signed on the chronograph bridge like usual so this piece may have been assigned for export somewhere in a southern or non-European country.  It is original to the case and dial. Measures 37.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 45 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$2695} {$2375} Item #4722 SOLD

Title: Gorgeous Early Breitling Quartz

Description: NEARMINT condition. I just like the look of this watch. Breitling's famous bezel is here but no chrono. A time only early (1980's or early 90's) Breitling quartz. Possibly the first "Colt" or a Colt although it is not marked. With quick set date of course. Superb condition. Signed steel buckle and newer non-original strap with slight wear. We can replace it with a nice new Hadley Roma if you like. 300 meter water resist with signed screw down crown. Measures 38 mm wide (not including the crown) x 44 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$469} Item #4708 SOLD

Title: Outstanding 18k Pink Gold Breitling Premier

Description: EXCELLENT/NEARMINT condition. Boy. These watches (vintage gold Breitling chronographs) have completely disappeared from the market. We used to buy and sell early snap backs like this and later screw back models with round pushers all the time. The prices were much lower two or three years ago too. It means that supply has shrunk, especially with nearmint examples. This qualifies. The original dial is almost perfect. It is just about a good as you can get for a 60 year old watch. The case is also in superb condition. One measure of wear is to look at the back where the watchmaker's knife blade is inserted. You are able to see in the close-up shots that it has little wear in that area. In addition, you can see that the original brushed finish on the sides is un-buffed and almost like new. The movement (Venus Caliber 175) also carries the same condition and runs to perfection with the chronograph hand setting to the 10th second perfectly. Three nice examples of this rare watch have been purchased from an astute collector. One has a nice black dial and may be available a bit later. Notice the large monogram on the back. Model 760 with case number 630973. These models are not thin or tin can like we call some typical gold chronos of this era. They are thick and heavy. Measures 35.4 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$2395} Item #4234 SOLD TO JV

Title: 1968 Breitling "Top Time" Stainless Steel Chronograph

Description: VERYGOOD condition. This is the best looking vintage Breitling I have had since we sold a pink gold screw back "Premier" about 5 years ago. It has a perfect original dial, which really stands out with its black sub dials. Although we have not serviced it, the hand wound movement is very clean and keeps perfect time. I have been wearing this watch for a couple of months and it loses about a second a week. The snap back case is signed and is all steel with a dust cover over the movement. It has been buffed and shows some nicks and a little corrosion in some small spots. It carries a used Hirsch strap with a stainless steel deployant buckle. Please choose a nice Hadley Roma strap, except the exotics. Finally, this watch looks fantastic in person and really stands out on your wrist. Worn to the Orlando NAWCC show recently, I had no less than a dozen offers from collectors and dealers. Measures 38.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 48 mm long x 14 mm thick. {$1275} Item #3976 SOLD RM

Title: 18k Pink Gold Breitling Premier with Black Dial

Description: EXCELLENT condition. A rare and beautiful timepiece from the 1940's. The original black dial is almost perfect. It is just about a good as you can get for a 60 year old watch. The case is also in very very nice condition. One measure of wear is to look at the back where the watchmaker's knife blade is inserted. You are able to see in the close-up shots that it has little wear in that area. There are no dents, dings, scuffs, scratches or sign of wear what so ever. It has been buffed lightly by our watchmaker. The movement (Venus Caliber 175) is in good shape according to our watchmaker and the chronograph hand re-sets/stops to the 10th second perfectly. Purchased from an astute collector, vintage gold Breitling chronographs have just about completely disappeared from the market. Supply has shrunk, especially with extra nice examples.  This nice 18k pink gold watch is not thin or "tin can" like we call some typical gold chronos of this era. Measures 35.4 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$2395} Item #4264 SOLD TO MW DOWN UNDER

Title: Very Rare British Broad Arrow One Button Artillery Chronograph

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Nearly one of a kind this type of chronograph was made specifically for pilots and other military timers like gunners who where able to determine the range of enemy artillery units. Factory modified with no hour or minute hand and Valjoux's special GHT hand wound chronograph movement featuring 17 jewels and 18,000 bph (beats per hour). According to Ziggy this type was issued to the British Army's Air Observation Post crews. The 1/5 signifies the ability to record timing intervals to one fifth of a second and although the TP is not completely understood most agree it means Temporary Pattern as most war time chronographs have a patt. #3139 style mark (pattern number). Superb shape with the original finish on the all steel case. Most military watches were made of chrome plated base metals to save resources making steel much rarer. Wire lugs ensured that the watch would not break free from your wrist. The painted metal dial is original and perfect except for some flaking down at the bottom.  A brand new Hadley Roma black cuff strap is attached. Measures 36.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 14 mm thick. {$1075} Item #4723 SOLD

Title: Good Looking Black/White Dialed Bucherer Chronograph

Description: VERYGOOD condition.  Well made high grade Swiss chronograph with an all steel case in real nice shape. Some nicks on the outside of the lugs and a little ding on the pusher at 2. Black and white dial is about 90% with light fading. It looks original to an untrained eye but I think it has been refinished, although very nicely done. The hand wound Landeron Caliber 248 movement is Swiss made, has 17 jewels, is shock protected and looks and runs fine. Overall a real nice watch. We have installed a brand new Hadley Roma black leather strap. Measures 36 mm wide (not including the crown) x 41 mm long x 14 mm thick. {$475} Item #5034 SOLD

Title: 1960's Ladies Bucherer Pendant Watch

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Neat watch with an inexpensive steel chain which was not original. These little ball type watches are shaped more like a thick pod than a ball and usually hang from a stick pin thingy. Hand wound 17j Bucherer signed Swiss movement has two adjustments and runs great. The case material is white metal of some kind. Makes a unique gift. Measures 21 mm wide (not including the crown) x 17 mm thick. {$119} Item #4990 SOLD

Title: Beautiful Ladies Bucherer "Ball" Watch on Chain

Description: NEARMINT condition. Possibly as late as the 1960's this extra nice Swiss watch was made to be worn every day in a non traditional place, around the neck. The 17 jewel hand wound shock protected movement keeps excellent time. The chain is possibly more modern and it is not made of expensive material and I don't believe this watch is sterling either. Measures 21 mm wide (not including the crown). {$169} Item #4145 SOLD TO WHH

Measures 33.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 14 mm thick. {$175}  {$125} SALE Item #4199 SOLD

Title: Big 14k Pink Gold Paul Buhre, Manufacture'

Description: EXCELLENT/NEARMINT condition. This is a real sweet timepiece and a little larger than most from this era. It measures a millimeter or two larger and feels bigger too because of the narrow bezel and large diameter pink dial (refinished). It has large beefy lugs and looks fantastic overall. The signed snap back covers a signed hand wound Swiss made movement and this case is also reinforced with metal to help beef up the watch which feels good in the hand and on the wrist. The firm "Manufacture des Montres Paul Buhre SA" opened a small shop in St. Petersburg Russia in 1815. Paul Leopold Buhre along with other Swiss watchmakers (Courvoiser and Cie and Tissot) was attracted to the area by Catherine II's efforts to start a watch and clock factory.  Buhre's main factory was located in Le Locle Switzerland. It expanded rapidly from its trade in Russia and by 1945 was touting 300 observatory prizes including Neuchatel and Breguet competitions. The firm continued through the 1970's with ads listing marine and wrist chronometers. If you think our price for this 14k pink gold watch is high, please check Farfo.com where a chrome plated model is listed at $399! A nice new Hadley Roma 835 Gator Tail style dark brown leather strap is included. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 9 mm thick. {$445} Item #3825 SOLD WP

Title: Cool Pink Bulova w/Rare Pink Bracelet

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Wow! Lucky to find pink watches of any kind and real lucky with bracelets. This is a gentlemen's watch btw, not a ladies watch and the little pink gold filled bracelet will fit a large wrist with the extension out. Most likely, our wrists were much smaller 40 years ago. Would be great for a gal though or medium wristed man. Original dial is aged but looks better in person, much better. This style of Bulova dial is unique with the white Arabic's standing out nicely against the pink background. Wayne has checked this watch out and regulated it. Signed crown. Steel snap on back. The bracelet is an American made Speidel. Measures 31 mm wide (not including the crown) x 34 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$149} Item #5821 SOLD

Probably one of my favorite Bulova watches this large stainless steel diver has a nice original black dial with acrylic columns for markers which grab and hold light, a Bakelite bezel in excellent condition, funky large ss screw back case circa 1969 and new Hadley Roma Breitling style padded leather strap. Runs great and uses a high grade Swiss automatic. Signed crown. Acrylic crystal is probably original with the Cyclops magnifier on the underside. Title: Stunning Near Mint Vintage Bulova Hand Wind Serviced

Description: NEARMINT condition. There are a few scuffs on the sides of the lugs but the yellow gold filled case has its original unbuffed finish. The steel back is dated 1950 with Bulova's date code. Beautifully engraved bezel and original signed crown. Also, the original thin glass crystal is still perfect. Mint original silvered dial is to die for. Gorgeous 17j Bulova Caliber 10BM keeps great time, was serviced by the previous owner and is made in America. A very striking vintage time piece. You can have the old Bulova box also which is from the era but not original to this watch. Probably had a smaller watch in it as the top doesn't close all the watch with this watch in it. It makes a nice presentation though and would be an excellent gift. Measures 25 mm wide (not including the crown) x 38 mm long x 9 mm thick. {$275} Item #5831 SOLD

Title: Vintage SS Bulova Oceanographer w/10k White Gold Bezel

He has also put in new gaskets and a  new acrylic crystal. The dial is original, fairly unique and really nice with small tritium dots outside the attractive red makers and their color matches perfectly the beige lum in the hands. Our super close up photos (click on the image to the left) show corrosion but I cannot see it at all without a loupe. The large (for vintage) stainless steel case has nicks on each side but we have also buffed it a little so it looks pretty nice. Signed crown. Old style quick set date works by moving the hour hand past midnight, back to nine and repeat. A brand new Hadley Roma 886 in dark brown with white stitching is included. Title: Nice Stainless Steel Rare American Made 23j Bulova Automatic

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Nice attractive watch from the 1950's with a cool sunburst style original black dial and in-house 23 jewel American made Bulova movement. I was previously only aware of the Eglin Caliber 760 and 761 American made automatics, seen here. But it says USA, not SWISS on the movement which is all the proof I need. Bulova had factories in both America and Switzerland and we know that hand wound movements were made here but I was not aware of the occasional automatic. American made automatic movements are scarce as hen's teeth and an area one can concentrate in without spending a fortune. The screw back steel case won't wear like the white gold filled model we see sometimes. Purchased from one of our watchmakers who has checked it out. Measures 31 mm wide (not including the crown) x 39 mm long x 12.5 mm thick. {$229} Item #5778 SOLD

Circa 1959, Korean War issue by the Air Force with a Bulova Caliber 10BNCH hack set movement. Hand wound and having been fully serviced, oiled and timed by Wayne with a one year warranty. Also included new seals which makes the waterproof crown a bit stiff. Extremely water and dust resistant model with a fully marked screw down back. It is all sealed up or I would show you the movement which is nice and clean and pretty. 100% original. A brand new Hadley Roma 882 padded oil tan strap is included. Description: VERYGOOD condition. These are fantastic dress dive watches (at the time they were waterproof to 333 feet) with solid gold bezels. Large screw back steel cases and high grade Bulova Swiss made automatic movements, usually a BLACD in-house automatic movement. Our watchmaker has gone through this one and also buffed the case including cleaning it. Original signed crown and original dial which shows lovely aged color on the indices. There is a bump on the dial between the three and four. Made in 1969 with semi-quick set full rotor movements. Move the hour hand to midnight and back to nine and repeat for setting date fast. The bezel is solid gold and a brand new hr brown leather strap is attached with a matching gold plated steel buckle. This watch is extremely attractive in person and on the wrist. Measures 37 mm wide (not including the crown) x 45 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$235} Item #5215 SOLD

Made with a good sized (for vintage) screw back steel case and 10k solid gold bezel, circa 1972 and keeping great time with it's high grade 17j in-house Caliber 11BLACD full rotor automatic movement. Title: Extra Nice 23j Stainless Steel Bulova Automatic

Description: EXCELLENT condition. A real beauty in person with a mint original black dial and nice bowl shaped steel case dated M2 or 1962. Been to our watchmaker for check and works perfectly. Bulova Caliber 10BZAC shock protected 23j movement runs from the motion of the wrist although you can wind it also. I just noticed that the lum dot from just above/behind the 1 has fallen. I'll probably take it back to the watchmaker to remove it. A mid-sized, not small like some of this genre. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$215} Item #5279 SOLD

Title: Fairly Rare Bulova Automatic Duowind Tank

Title: Very Nice Stainless Steel Bulova Astronaut, Circa 1965

Description: EXCELLENT condition.  Sweet watch. Perfect original black dial. Nice, almost nearmint steel case with a near perfect timing bezel which can turn either direction although this one is pretty tight. Accutron watches were one of the first battery operated timepieces but instead of using a balance wheel (Hamilton Electrics) or a piece of quartz (invented later) they used an actual steel tuning fork to regulate the beat. You can hear it humming in a pleasant high pitch if you put it to your ear. Very accurate and our watchmaker checked it out completely. It is keeping good time. Title: Gorgeous Small Early Waterproof Bulova w/Sweet Dial Serviced

Description: GOOD condition. We have this graded as only "good" because there is a thin crack on the case between the lugs at six. This is not going to cause the watch to malfunction or fall apart but it is something to consider and one should  also note that vintage watches, waterproof or not should be kept out of the water. The Swiss made Bulova Caliber 10BCC hand wound movement has been fully serviced, oiled and timed and has also had a new mainspring installed. It runs great, keeping good time. Overall nearmint condition. Could be original or extra high quality re-finish on this dial. I took it as original at first but am unsure now. Outstanding eye appeal but watch is small to medium which is not uncommon for late 30's or early 40's watches. Dates from 1940 and has a nice black pig skin strap with steel buckle attached. Measures 31 mm wide (not including the crown) x 37 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$125} Item #4146 SOLD

Title: Rare Bulova One Button Chronograph

Description: VERYGOOD condition. These old watches (1940's) are very unique and rare. Unusual in that the chronograph only times for 60 seconds with no 30 minute or 12 hour counter. The subsidiary dial at 6 is the normal seconds. The start, stop and reset button is in the center of the crown which is very cool and unique. The gold filled, snap back case is very nice with no "wear through". It has been buffed but there are no noticeable scratches or dings. The dial appears to be original but rates abut 80% with some fading on the outside edge. I believe this is the original hand crafted and tooled cowboy style leather strap. This hard to find collectible is one of most unique watches one can own and at an affordable price. Measures 29 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$375} {$299} Item #3763 SOLD JV

Title: Long 21j Curved Bulova w/Black Dial

Description: VERYGOOD condition. This collectible vintage time piece has three strong virtues. They are size, aesthetics and price. Because the design is long and curved with stepped sides and because it has a black dial (refinished) and is fairly early (1940's) this could easily be in the $300 range. It has a high grade American made 21j hand wound movement and the original unmarked glass crystal. There is some wear through to brass on the tops of the lugs but this is not seen easily because brass and gold are similar in color when polished. It is keeping good time, is easy to wind and to wear and has a brand new 15 mm wide $30 black water resistant Hirsch Rainbow strap. Measures 20 mm wide (not including the crown) x 46 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$200} Item #4006 SOLD WP

Title: Beautiful Extra Fine Bulova Duo-wind Automatic Tank

Description: NEARMINT condition. When was the last time you saw a large vintage automatic timepiece with a rectangular/tank shaped case? They did not make many as I don't believe that they took hold at the time. When we do see them the condition is usually poor. This fantastic large watch is nearly one of a kind. In point, as we should all know, the extra fine and nearmint vintage watches are purchased and held by the most astute collectors. They always increase in value exponentially. Don't miss out on extra ordinary pieces when available. This is the FIRST nearmint duo-wind I have seen in 10 years. Anyway, it is nice and all original. The gold filled case does have faint scuffs but has not been buffed. The automatic Swiss Bulova movement runs great and a brand new highest grade Hirsch strap is included. Signed crown. Original unmarked glass crystal. Early piece dating from 1950 (L0), according to the Bulova date code on the back and movement. Measures 25.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$475} Item #3968 SOLD AP

Parkerized case is very nice. All markings on screw back. Acrylic crystal. Original crown. Nice modern canvas strap similar to era straps. Measures 32 mm wide (not including the crown) x 34 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$265} Item #3933 SOLD TO SF

Title: Hard to Find SS Bulova Wrist Alarm, Circa 1967 Serviced

Description: VERYGOOD/EXCELLENT condition. Despite nicks and scuffs on this thick steel case and one crown which is narfed up a bit, this is a great chance for a good deal on an attractive (mint original dial) functioning complicated Swiss timepiece. Alarms are still undervalued and steel is the best to collect, after gold. The signed crown at two winds and sets the watch. It also winds the alarm barrel. Turn clockwise to wind alarm, counter clockwise for the movement (mainspring). The crown at four sets the alarm hand and allows the ring when in the pulled out position. The Bulova Caliber 11AERC has been fully serviced, oiled and timed. A new off-brand lizard is attached but you may choose a nice new Hadley Roma if you like. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 41 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$265} Item #4156  SOLD TO SS IN ISTANBUL

Title: Magnificent and Rare 52 mm Bulova Curvex Serviced

Description: This is a stunning piece in person and on the wrist. Any 1930's watch of this size is a real prize. The mint dial has been professionally refinished and looks fantastic. The huge highly curved case is in very nice condition but does have wear on high points of the back and some on the inside edges of the lugs, on top. This is hard to see with a light hand polish as brass matches the gold filled case. Learn about gold filled cases <HERE>.  The original curved glass crystal is like new with one nearly invisible mark on the edge between the 3 and the 4. It is flush with the top/bezel of the watch. The crown is new and unsigned. Just massive in size. See photo of the way it covers my large 7 and 1/2 inch wrist. An extra long genuine lizard skin strap is included. I have only seen one of these in 14 years of collecting. Title: Large 18k Pink Gold Chronographe Suisse Serviced

Description: VERYGOOD condition. This is a large solid gold 1940's Swiss two register chronograph with a thin four part pink gold case and awesome original dial. The Landeron Caliber 48 movement has been fully serviced, oiled and timed at some expense and has a one year service warranty. It is protected with a metal dust cover which also doubles as an anti-magnetic shield. Click on the image to the left for some large photos of the movement and rest of this watch. Priced a little higher than some in this genre because of condition, serviced movement, color and size. Way less than a thicker gold chrono which would be double or more easily. Like a Breitling Premier for instance. In the trade we call these types "tin can" chronos. Several dings are visible here and there and one on a lug side which is noticeable. Fantastic, near mint original dial is to die for and radiates a nice glow. On the outside there is a Tachymeter scale which can time speed in a mile. Then a Telemeter scale which times sound and then a 1-60 scale inside that. Just a pretty watch all over with a nice large size and tight Swiss movement. The 20 mm lug width uses female spring bars and we have a new pair installed along with a brand new Hadley Roma genuine crocodile MS822 brown strap. Measures 38 mm wide (not including the crown) x 4xx mm long x 1xx mm thick. {$775} Item #5757 SOLD

Title: Gorgeous Citizen World Time GMT Automatic

Description: EXCELLENT condition. A fantastic vintage watch in super condition. The steel case is almost perfect with only a couple of tiny nicks and scuffs. The 21 jewel Citizen automatic movement does have auxiliary wind (will wind with crown) and we have put a new crystal on too. The extra nice and colorful original dial is in superb shape and is one of the best looking I have ever seen. It has an inner rotating bezel for world time indication. The red hand moves around the dial once per 24hrs or military time. It is not adjustable. Measures 43 mm wide (not including the crown) x 47 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$325} Item #4567 SOLD

Title: 23j Citizen "Bullhead" Automatic Chronograph

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Although the dial is somewhat aged on this cool chrono the steel case is really very nice showing little sign of age. No nicks or scuffs at all. Even the Citizen bracelet is in great shape and it is very large too fitting my 7 and 1/2 inch wrist with lots of slack. Unlike many vintage Seiko chronographs this watch will wind via the crown. The sub dial at three is a 30 minute counter while the dial at 9 counts up to 12 hours. The chronograph seconds hand is in the center and counts up to 60 seconds. It does miss coming straight up to zero by about half a second. It is not especially noticeable to the naked eye. A very cool watch in an unusual and collectible design. Measures 38 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$239} Item #3761 SOLD

Title: Big 1960's Clebar Chronograph in Steel

Description: GOOD/VERYGOOD condition.  Large size with a heavy screw on back and bi-directional timing bezel. Scuffs and tool marks on the back. Some crazing on the original black and white dial seen around the edge from about 12 to 5. The Landeron Caliber 248 is signed Clebar on the balance bridge and appears to be in mint condition. It has 17 jewels and is shock protected (a special spring protects the balance staff). I see no sign of use and there are no service marks in the inside of the case. It is bright and shiny, keeping very good time. A brand new Hadley Roma black leather strap with steel buckle is attached. Waterproof (at the time) to 20 atms and according to a friends grandfather who purchased one of these for his diving job in the 1960's this watch was sent through the mail immersed in a small water filled gold fish bowl! Non screw down large waterproof crown and waterproof round pushers. Measures 39 mm wide (not including the crown) x 47 mm long x 15 mm thick. {$380} Item #5044 SOLD

Title: Gorgeous New Old Stock Blue Dial Clinton World Timer

Description: NEARMINT condition. Sweet looking 1960's automatic with a steel screw on back and chrome plated middle body. Just set the city you are in on the hour hand and all other cities shown will be next to their local time. Each arrow denotes am/pm shift. Unopened, serviced or worn. France written on bottom of original dial. 17 jewel automatic runs fine keeping good time with a non quick set day and date. A brand new dark brown Hadley Roma strap with a steel buckle is attached. Measures 33.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 38 mm long x 14 mm thick. {$265} Item #4834 SALE! {$175} SOLD

Title: Gorgeous Clinton Up/Down Chronograph

Description: GOOD condition.  Mesmerizing original silver, pink and cream dial with unusual up down chrono counters. The detail of the outside edge is amazing as three different gauges are arranged out there. The tachymeter or fine numbering in black from 400 to 60, clockwise is used to measure speed traveling one mile (try it from mile marker to marker on the highway, for instance if it takes you 55 seconds the hand will stop just left of 65 on the tachymeter which indicates that you averaged 65.5 mph in that mile). Next, in pink are the numerals 1 thru 12 (km) with the 12 near the top. This is a telemeter scale which is used to time distance related to sound. For instance to time the distance of a bolt of lightning from its furthest point, start the chronograph (button at 2) when you see it strike and stop it (same button) when you hear the thunder. Each division, 1-12 is 1 km with the miniscule marks between the numbers representing 100 meters. So, if you hear the thunder 7 seconds after the bolt the distance will read 2 (km) and 500 meters or just over a mile. Finally, a black 0-60 graduation is for simple minute timing. Normal seconds at 6 with a 30 minute counter at 12. The hand wound Venus (Swiss made) chronograph movement runs great but does have some wash-out (the nickel finish is faded from servicing), see close-up photos. The three piece case has a steel snap on back and chrome plated middle body and bezel. The middle body has lost its chrome. Flat pusher 1940's chronos are not very water or dust resistant. Measures 35.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$525} Item #4959 SALE! {$375} SOLD

Title: Cool Stainless Steel Big Date Cornavin "Datocor"

Title: Affordable Pink Dialed Crawford

Description: FAIR/GOOD condition. Coming from a former watchmaker's collection in a small town near here this is a great starter watch or even a cool collectable. Strap could be a replacement from as late as the sixties I guess. Runs fine and has a Crawford signed 17j Swiss hand wound movement which has no corrosion or ugliness. Measures 20 mm wide (not including the crown) x 41 mm long x 9 mm thick. {$89} Item #5400 SOLD

Mint dial, original crown and original box. We've added a nice new genuine lizard skin strap but the original Croton strap comes with it as well as the hang tag. Fun beginner hand wound Swiss made watch. Not a quick set date. Side note: Arctic is often miss-spelled Artic and so it is on this box. Title: Small Steel Croton Aquamatic, Early Waterproof AS FOUND

Description: EXCELLENT condition. I can't sell this watch for nuthin'. What brought this on, you might say? Well, I have a lot of this type of watch from two decades of collecting and the fact is that they don't get much money, so I seldom list them. Way undervalued, probably because of size. Tank watches are small and they seem to sell fairly well but this is a much better watch. All steel, not gold filled like most tanks. Water and dust proof design and it is an automatic. Early (1940's) shock protected bumper wind. You can feel it bump up agin' its springs. Bought from an old watchmaker who previously serviced the watch. Fantastic unbuffed condition. Look at the back. Click on the image to the left for close-up photos. Nearmint original dial with most of the old lum (radium?) intact. Original hands. Acrylic crystal. The strap is a long gray pigskin, well worn but original. We will be happy to include a nice new strap at your request. Measures 31 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$175} Item #5054 SOLD

Title: Diamond Encrusted 14k White Gold Ladies Croton

Description: NEARMINT condition. Croton is one of my favorite "underdogs" in the vintage watch collecting world. Highly undervalued with good early waterproof automatics in steel still available at bargain prices. Swiss made with a very nice looking Croton hand wound shock protected movement. Click on the image to the left for close-up photos. All original with just over one carat of diamonds according to a jeweler friend. He did say that the stones were modern cut opposed to mine cut and slightly above average quality. The diamonds are 18 really small ones in the solid 14k white gold bracelet plus 30 more on the large fancy lugged 14k white gold head. 18 single cuts at about .015 cts, 10 at .03, 2 at .08 and two large ones at about .15 -.20 cts. Fairly modern watch from the sixties or later in my opinion with a large bracelet, acrylic crystal and in nearly unworn condition. Keeps good time. Measures 15 mm wide (not including the crown) x 48 mm long x 7 mm thick. {$750} Item #4529 SOLD TO RP IN IRELAND

The case is chrome plate over base metal, except for the steel screw on back. Fully signed inside and out and wearing a nice new black pig skin strap with a chrome plated buckle. Measures 45 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 15 mm thick. {$299} Item #4168 SOLD TO RS

Title: New Old Stock Hand Wound Croton Gladiator

Description: NIB/PRISTINE MINT condition. It is so hard to find vintage watches which are still in new, unused condition. This particular watch is not one I have seen often either. Waterproof Croton watches yes but marked Gladiator on the dial and back? Kind of cool and unusual. Best of all though is the design. It is a beautiful piece with a waterproof crown, depressed and highly polished bezel, holed lugs for easy removal of spring bars and a gorgeous brushed back which has four screws holding it in place and is signed Gladiator, Incabloc, stainless steel, waterproof and a unique serial number. Original black strap in excellent (not dried out) condition. Original steel buckle and hang tag in mint condition. Like new, or unused and owned by one person until now. Very expensive anywhere you can find it. Measures 38 mm wide (not including the crown) x 45 mm long x 14 mm thick. {$785} Item #5976 SOLD

Title: Rare Early Cyma Swing Lug Chronometer

Description: GOOD condition. Chronometer grade watches are one step above their counterparts in that the movement has been designed and regulated to keep a tight standard of accuracy in positions and temperatures. We are reminded that Rolex oyster watches are mostly all chronometers and Omega Constellations with "officially certified" on the dial but we don't often see chronometers by other makers or real early examples. Three part chrome plated case is cylinder or barrel shaped with straight sides and in good condition. The back is hinged. The dial is porcelain and double sunk with awesome black Arabic numerals plus an Arabic 13-24 outer track. It has one faint hairline crack from the center pinion up through the 12. Not even remotely visible to the naked eye and hard to see with my 10X loupe. Original hands. Crown may have been replaced in the 1950's. This watch has to be from the 1920's or earlier which makes it pretty unusual. Small but made for a man back then. Either sex could wear it now. We have a new open ended Hirsch strap attached but the lug width is thin so it looks more like a ladies watch. Measures 26 mm wide (not including the crown) x 33 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$329} Item #5974 SOLD

In-house Reference #335 Cyma hand wound movement is cool and unique. Click on the image to the left for close-up photos. Original dial looks dirty but the whole watch is pretty decent in person. Title: Rare Early Chronometer Grade Cyma Swing Lug

Description: GOOD condition. When we think of chronometer grade watches we think of Rolex and Omega but many other companies had movements approved and they always made note of it in their advertisements and usually on the dial. Certified as more accurate than other movements and falling into a specific range per 24 hours, including positions and temperature. Original plain nickel case has a firmly fitted hinged snap back and snap bezel, swing lugs and original porcelain dial. There are cracks as you can see in the close-up photo. Click on the image to the left. The hand wound Swiss made Cyma movement keeps good time. Crown probably not original. A new open ended strap made for old watches is attached. Measures 31 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$289} Item #5434 SOLD

Title: Sweet Affordable Old Swing Lug Cyma

Description: GOOD condition. Medium sized vintage (1920's) Swiss made timepiece made for a man but also small enough for a woman. The original porcelain dial does have some hairlines but they are not highly visible unless you look close. Most dealers won't disclose this type of info but these dials always has lum in the open Arabic numerals. Of course, it didn't stick very well and after 80 years....we seldom see original lum on porcelain dials. Nickel case has a hinged back and snap on bezel. It is in good condition. The crown is original which is pretty rare. The hand wound Swiss made movement has 15 jewels and keeps good time. A brand new high grade wire lug strap is attached. Measures 32 mm wide (not including the crown) x 45 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$219} Item #5433 SOLD

Title: Oversized Very Early Cyma/Tavannes Porcelain Dial

Description: GOOD condition. Sweet 1920's or earlier extra large Swiss time piece signed Tavannes Watch Co. on the perfect porcelain dial and Cyma on the mainspring barrel. 13-15 jewel movement ( I can see 13 jewels), runs perfectly and has been checked over for problems by our watchmaker. The crown is an old one which came with the watch but my guess is that it is a replacement. It is large and easy to grip. Some discoloration on the large blued hands. Easy to read Arabic numerals with 12 in red. Nickel case has a hinged snap on back with a press on bezel. Some small dings in the back. Some washout from many services/cleanings of the movement gives it a bit of a dull appearance. A special open ended or wire lug strap has been attached and it will fit most wrists 7 1/2 inches or smaller. Rare in this size and usually very expensive at other "fancy" or overpriced websites. Excellent thin beveled correct glass crystal too. Measures 39 mm wide (not including the crown) x 54 mm long x 9.5 mm thick. {$399} Item #5342 SOLD

Title: Large Heavy Steel WWW Broad Arrow Cyma

Description: NEARMINT condition. This awesome British MoD (Ministry of Defense) "broad arrow" WWW (Wrist Watch Waterproof) military issue time piece was completely serviced about a year ago by the previous owner. The dial is original and despite some fading it is in superb condition and has its original luminescent dots. The hands may be original or replacements but they are the correct shape and certainly have been (if original) refilled with new luminescent material. This design is known for heavy screw on waterproof back, anti-magnetic dust cover for the robust hand wound Swiss made Cyma movement, fixed spring bars and non-shattering acrylic crystals. Many manufacturers supplied www watches to the MoD but most were chrome plated cases with steel backs. Few, except the Cyma were made entirely of steel. The difference is dramatic. Chrome plated cases will not survive refurbishing or buffing of any kind and they have a much shorter lifespan. The slotted back is fully marked and perfect. This is a nickelled split 3/4 plate 15j movement with an uncut screw balance containing an overcoil hairspring. A Bond style Nato strap is attached. Measures 38.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 46 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$490} Item #4636 SOLD

Title: 1943 Cyma Bumper Wind Automatic

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Unbeknownst to most this is a fairly unique and important brand and model in particular. These early waterproof automatics are also found in steel and marked "watersport"  Large for the era with a style and design ahead of its time. Gold filled top 85% or better with a stainless two-part screw back. Highly water and dust resistant design from the early 1940's. Swiss made "in-house" Cyma Caliber R420 (Cyma's first automatic movement) is a pleasure to view having an early 114,214 serial number a pretty jewel setting on the central hammer wind rotor, ruby bearings with chatons, a two spoke Glucydur screw balance, self-compensating flat hairspring, patented Cymaflex shock resistance, a center second and 18, 000 bph (beats per hour).  The original dial is a pleasure to look at with aged luminescent triangles at 12,3,6 and 9 and dots at the gold indices. Yellowish aged hands match perfectly and point with specific accuracy to the correct minute and even the fifth minute mark which is precisely detailed. This is a highly undervalued vintage brand. This watch is extremely interesting and attractive on the wrist and has a nice new 18mm Hadley Roma leather strap attached. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$235} Item #4644 SOLD

Title: Outstanding Over Large Heavy Steel WWW Broad Arrow Cyma Serviced

Description: NEARMINT condition. This awesome British MoD (Ministry of Defense) "broad arrow" WWW (Wrist Watch Waterproof) military issue time piece was completely refurbished by one of the many fine UK dealers, purchased by a customer of ours and traded to us. Since the piece was serviced and probably has new seals I have not opened it to observe or photograph the movement. Most likely it is a nickelled split 3/4 plate 15j movement with an uncut screw balance containing an overcoil hairspring. We have it attached to our popular Hadley Roma cuff strap. Measures 38.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 46 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$575} Item #3896 SOLD

Title: Outstanding 1930's Cyma Tank Serviced

Description: VERYGOOD condition.  It is hard to find early examples of wristwatches with this many virtues. The condition is top notch for the age and shows only medium to mild use over the last 70 years. The white gold filled case is hinged at the north end and has deeply embossed bezel and sides. The tops of the small lugs are also engraved. Extra metal holds the movement in place and adds extra weight. The dial is perfect and extremely pleasing to look at. It has been professionally refinished as have the hands. Cyma was a company name under the Tavannes umbrella of watch co. names. Founded in 1891 by Henri Sandoz (1851-1913) after 20 yrs of success at the helm of his first company, Henri Sandoz and Cie., the Tavannes Watch Co. was known for many patents and new innovations including patents and contributions for repeaters (chiming watches), pocket chronometers (highly accurate pocket watches), marine chronometers (ships clocks), chronographs, extra thin movements, hermetic (waterproof) cases, metal dials, parts of all kinds and even their own shock protection devices. By the 1920's the Tavannes Watch Co., Tacy (short for Tavannes and Cyma) Watch Co. and Cyma Watch Co. were one of Switzerland's most productive and popular manufacturer's with offices in nearly every overseas market.  This watch has been fully serviced, oiled and timed. Title: British Military Issue Cyma

Heck of a hunk of steel with fixed bars, a great dial and high grade Swiss quartz movement. Measures 42 mm wide (not including the crown) x 47 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$299} Item #4243 SOLD TO CR

Large for the day with a style and design ahead of its time. Unbuffed gold filled top 95% or better with a stainless two-part screw back. Highly water and dust resistant design from the early 1940's. Swiss made "in-house" Cyma Caliber R420 (Cyma's first automatic movement) is a pleasure to view having an early 114,214 serial number a pretty jewel setting on the central hammer wind rotor, ruby bearings with chatons, a two spoke Glucydur screw balance, self-compensating flat hairspring, Patented Cymaflex shock resistance a center second and 18, 000 bph (beats per hour).  98% original dial is a pleasure to look at with aged luminescent triangles at 12,3,6 and 9 and dots at the gold indices. Photo shadows are deceptive, this dial is even and nice. This is a highly undervalued vintage brand. Title: Big Oversized Delbana Swiss Made Vintage Chronograph

Description: EXCELLENT condition. This attractive vintage piece has a two piece middle body with a snap on bezel. It is gold plated and there is a 5 mm section of the bezel with missing or worn off gold plating. It can be seen in the close-up photo. Click on the image to the left. The original dial is outstanding and in mint condition. It is a 30 minute chrono which means the big "second" hand counts 60 seconds while the subsidiary bit at three counts up to 30 minutes. The sub dial at 9 is the normal seconds counter which runs constantly. With a good loupe one can see no flaws or sign of age. The detail of the outside edge is amazing as three different gauges are arranged out there. The tachymeter or fine numbering in black from 1000 to 60, clockwise is used to measure speed traveling one mile (try it from mile marker to marker on the highway, for instance if it takes you 55 seconds the hand will stop just left of 65 on the tachymeter which indicates that you averaged 65.5 mph in that mile). Next, in red are the numerals 1 thru 20 (km) with the 20 at the top. This is a telemeter scale which is used to time distance related to sound. For instance to time the distance of a bolt of lightning from its furthest point, push the button at 2 when you see it strike and push the button at 4 to stop when you hear the thunder. Each division, 1-20 is 1km with the miniscule marks between the numbers representing 100 meters. So, if you hear the thunder 7 seconds after the bolt the distance will read 2 (km) and 500 meters or just over a mile. Finally, a black 0-60 graduation is for simple minute timing. The Swiss made Landeron Caliber 48 movement is in perfect running condition and keeps excellent time. A brand new Hadley Roma  835 Gator Tail brown leather strap with a 20 mm lug width is included. Measures 39 mm wide (not including the crown) x 46 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$345} Item #3715 SOLD CA

Title: WW II German Military Issue Dogma

Description: EXCELLENT condition. The case of this watch is really perfect with no damage or wear at all. It might have been reconditioned in the past. The dial is original and the hands are missing the luminescent material. The shock protected hand wound A. Schild Caliber 1130 hand wound movement is perfect, correct for the era and signed Dogma on the winding wheel. The screw on back of this watch has Stahlboden which means steel back and the correct D plus military serial number. D stands for Dienstuhr which means Servicewatch. Most German military watches have both the D and H for Heer which is German Army. Some speculate that the watches only marked with a D were for the Luftwaffe. It is unusual to find this type with only the D marking (ref. Ulric of England). It is attached to a nice new Bund strap. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 41 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$445} Item #4619 SOLD

Title: Nice Steel Swiss Made (Dom Watch Co.) Alarm

The vintage used strap may be the original.  {$195} {$175} Item #3305 SOLD Rudi

Title: Sweet Black Dial Doxa 330T Sharkhunter Sub Serviced

Description: EXCELLENT condition. For about three years now our customers have been asking for Doxa Subs but the prices have gone up so fast it has been hard to find one in good condition for under a grand (at the wholesale level). So, testing the market with this extra fine example. The Doxa sub or shark hunter dive watch was popularized by Dirk Pitt adventure writer, Clive Cussler in his novels after he (Clive) was given his first Doxa diver in 1969. He had been working in a dive shop while finishing his first book and was moving on, thus presented with a going away gift. He then honored the watch by including it in his Dirk Pitt stories. Notable for super thick and heavy steel screw back cases, screw down crowns. luminescent tritium indices and a uni-directional diving table bezel this example is in fine condition with the original finish, dial and hands. It also keeps chronometer grade time having been timed on our timing machine and wound, set and worn in various positions and serviced by Jack at IWW while in the previous owners possession. Not signed by the US distributor US Divers Co. on the dial (see this model we sold three years ago) and with the metric version of the depth table bezel tells me this could have been a military watch or sold original in Europe. The sailboat insignia on the back dates to 1968 or earlier according to Doxa representatives. The strap is a generic rubber but you may choose any strap you like with a $50 credit towards that purchase (if over that amount). Measures 43 mm wide (not including the crown) x 45 mm long x 13 mm thick. {$1275} Item #5736 SOLD

Title: Early Extra Nice Small SS Waterproof Doxa

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Really great shape for a watch which is probably 60 years plus in age. All steel with clear unworn markings on the screw on back and the original finish/sand marks. Marked anti-magnetic and waterproof with stamped reference number between the holed lugs like Rolex does and nice clean edges although there are light scuffs. Nice original radium dial and original hands. Hand wound with an easy to grip crown. The acrylic crystal has bunches of little nicks which we should've buffed out before photography but we'll add a new crystal, or Wayne the watchmaker will for about $15 if you like. It will improve the aesthetics considerably. Priced quite low for any good vintage watch. Remember, all steel is much better than chrome plated models and harder to find in old watches. Doxa is a good Swiss brand also. Red center second is nice too. A brand new black DeBeer Paris sport leather strap is attached and matches well. This is also a good candidate for a smaller wrist or a lady collector. Measures 28.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 36 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$109} Item #5727 SOLD

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Big steel case is nice with several scuffs and nicks including a couple of substantial nicks on the outside edge of the case near 11. Signed screw back. Title: Rare Orange Dial Doxa Sub

Description: GOOD condition. These rare dive watches are almost impossible to find. The demand is incredible. This automatic Swiss made watch is in decent shape but shows a lot of nicks and scratches even though it has been buffed and the original glass crystal has a couple of chips. The dial is nice but looks like a refinish. Non screw down crown. Nice Bond style nato strap. Measures 43 mm wide (not including the crown) x 45 mm long x 14 mm thick. {$775} Item #3886 SOLD DP

Title: Beautiful New Old Stock Steel Formed Case Doxa Tank

Description: NEARMINT condition. Most dealers would certainly call this mint but although this watch was never sold it has been in a dealers case or two and does have some superficial scuffs. All original and striking to see in my opinion. This is a hand wound watch made in Switzerland during the 1930's. It is small (note the dimensions) but was made for a man even though either sex could wear this piece. Formed case watches from the 30's are rare as steel is difficult to work in this fashion. Don't overlook this piece as it's horological importance and rarity is significant. A beautiful French made black lizard strap is included. Measures 19.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 36 mm long x 9 mm thick. {$475} {$299} SALE Item #3775 SOLD TO GA

A high grade Hirsch Nevada rubber strap is attached. Measures 43 mm wide (not including the crown) x 45 mm long x 14 mm thick. {$875} Item #4314 SOLD TO SO

Title: Beautiful 14k Pink Gold Doxa Hand Wind

Description: A fine watch in a medium to small size (30 mm in diameter not including the original pink crown). Certainly the watch is from an era when watches in general were much smaller than now. Probably late 1930's from the design. Fully signed 17 jewel Swiss made hand wound movement features an indirect center seconds and a two spoke screwed balance. According to the timing machine the watch shows little to no error. In other words, it keeps perfect time. The 14k pink gold screw back case is fully signed (Doxa) and hallmarked with gold content, made in Switzerland etc. It is in good condition with a small ding in the back but overall ranks about 85%. Also it has a stamp on the back of one lug. The dial is perfect but it has been refinished and is a very nice job. I believe the hands are original (nice aged color). Acrylic crystal. A brand new high grade Hadley Roma tan leather strap is attached. This beautiful vintage water resistant watch can be worn by either sex. Title: Extra Nice 18k Yellow Gold Vintage Hand Wound Ebel

Description: EXCELLENT condition. One of the nicer thin gold watches I have seen in awhile. Extra thin Caliber 96 Ebel movement (Piaget 9P) has 5 adjustments and looks really attractive. Fully signed and hallmarked three piece snap back case is 18k solid dark yellow gold with only three service marks. The enameled blue dial has a starry night motif and was probably repainted some time ago even though it says swiss on the bottom. It does have some cracks in the underlying enamel which are hard to see with the naked eye. The dial is original, only the gold paint is new. Enameled dials carry more value than painted metal dials. A nice blue genuine lizard skin strap from DeBeer of Paris is attached. Measures 32 mm wide (not including the crown) x 36 mm long x 6 mm thick. {$570} Item #4616 SOLD

Title: Rare Edox Geoscope World Time Automatic

Description: VERYGOOD condition. This is one of the most difficult vintage watches to find. I have only seen one in 13 years of collecting. It was sold by us for about $1700 to a well known politician who can be seen wearing it to this day. This is a large, one piece steel case in a water and dust proof design. The crystal is screwed down into the case with a special ring. The signed crowns wind and set the watch (at 4) and move the 24hr black and white GMT inner bezel with sun (crown at 2). Penned as a "Universal time watch whose dial effects a full rotation every 24 hours providing both GMT time and the position of the sun in the heavens, this watch was considered one of a kind for it's time", made in the 1960's. There are some light scuffs and dings on the case and some age can be seen on one portion (50 sec mark through the 5 sec mark) of the outer outer dial. This is a Swiss made watch with an automatic movement in good running condition (at watchmakers getting checked out w/service if needed). This watch comes with its original signed steel Edox bracelet. A nice buffalo grain new black leather 22 mm strap with matching steel buckle is attached. Measures 42 mm wide (not including the crown) x 44 mm long x 15 mm thick. {$1275} {$975} Item #3838  TRADED TO JS

Title: Large 21J Fancy Lug Elgin "Black Knight"

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Very large and very cool. Textured dial is very nice and original. The high grade Elgin Caliber 556 movement is keeping good time, has 21 jewels and has been completely gone over and regulated by our watchmaker. It is marked adjusted to temperatures and positions. American movements which are marked "adjusted" are similar to Swiss made chronometer grade movements in their finish and excellent timekeeping abilities. He has also installed a brand new acrylic crystal. The serial number dates this cool Batman style watch to the early 1950's. The yellow gold filled case has been lightly buffed but it does still show some faint nicks on the bezel, just over the cool stylized 12 and a scratch on that same lug. A brand new $54 Hadley Roma 17 mm lizard skin strap is attached. Measures 27 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$269} Item #5568 SOLD

Title: Nice 1944 Air Force Issue Elgin A-11 Serviced

Description: VERYGOOD/EXCELLENT condition. Really nice example of a WWII Elgin military time piece. Although the steel screw on back has been lightly buffed you can still see the Air Force mark, AF-44-43980 which tells us the issue date. The T movement serial number corresponds with 42 million and also correctly dates to 1944. This is a 16 jewel hack setting Elgin Caliber 539 and has been fully serviced, oiled and timed by Wayne our watchmaker and comes with a one year service warranty. Nice case although the chrome plated middle body shows some age. The original black dial has a few oil spots and the original painted hands are still in good shape. Air force specs called for painted hands during the war because they thought it was less likely paint would come off opposed to luminescent filled hands which could deteriorate and get into the movement, stopping it. A new lizard skin strap is attached. Measures 32.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$329} Item #5618 SOLD

Learn about gold filled watch cases by clicking <HERE> Wayne, our watchmaker has gone through this unusual watch (Elgin Caliber #717) looking for any problems and regulated it for time keeping. The digital dials are in fine condition and they function perfectly which is the most important factor when buying one of these watches. A new Hadley Roma strap is attached. Title: Rare American Made 27j Elgin Automatic Mechanic's Special

Description:  This is the only wrist watch known to say American Made on the dial. It is one of two American automatics made. We get pretty good money for them in working condition. This watch does work but our watchmaker says it needs the rotor tightened or replaced. This movement (Caliber 761) features a Durapower mainspring and incorporates Elgin's patented Durabalance system which is a free-sprung balance. A free-sprung balance does not use the conventional regulator pins found in most mechanical movements. Instead, the spiral arms of the balance carry two weights, held in place by a spring (see a close-up photo by clicking on the image to the left). If the spring is moved, it will cause the weights to follow the spiral arms and move in towards the hub (loss of moment) or out towards the rim (gain). This is a much better system than the old style regulator. Patek Philippe uses a similar method in their Gyromax balance. No refunds on Mechanic's specials. Nice dial. Original unsigned crown. All steel construction with a screw back. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$115} Item #4628 SOLD

Title: Unique Elgin GMT w/World Time Bezel on Back

Description: VERYGOOD condition. This unusual Swiss made automatic timepiece was made in the 60's and has a unique and well made rotating bezel on the back for world times. Some of the color has worn off of it but in 15 years of collecting, buying and selling this is the only Eglin GMT World Timer that I have ever seen. Can't find another on the net either although I am sure Elgin made more than one. Runs fine and is in very good condition with no major signs of wear. The steel case (all of it) is almost nearmint. Never buffed but with faint scuffs. The GMT hand is fixed to 24hr time. In other words, if the bezel is set properly (put the dash between 24 and 1 at noon) you will read the  time as military. As seen the watch shows 10 am or 10 hundred plus 10. Moving the hands around by 12 hours to 10 pm would place the gmt hand at 22 hundred. Attached to a nice Bund style strap. Pick something else if it is not to your taste. Measures 37 mm wide (not including the crown) x 46 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$490} Item #4342 SOLD

Title: WW I Elgin Trench Watch

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Sweet old time piece from many years ago. Dating to 1917 (the year we declared war on Germany) this unusual small gentleman's wrist watch could have easily been a fighting mans watch. The long tube the crown fits over is slightly more water and dust resistant then short ones. The three part Nickel silver case is in decent shape, has a snap on back and bezel. Fits on the wrist like driver's watches from a later era, this type of watch might have been often worn on the inside of the wrist for more protection from crystal breakage or had a protective grill attached. As it was the original glass crystal has many scratches and clouds the view of the awesome original dial. The numerals could very well be radium and they are almost entirely intact. Original hands are also well preserved. The single sunk (subsidiary seconds bit) porcelain dial has a small brown spot or stain above the center pinion where the hands attach and one small hairline crack. The hand wound Elgin movement is American made and runs great with a 50 hour mainspring according to our watchmaker who checked this watch out for any problems. A brand new DeBeer Paris wire lug black leather strap is attached. Measures 31 mm wide (not including the crown) x 35 mm long x 9 mm thick. {$325} Item #4778 SOLD

Title: Beautiful 10k Solid Gold Lord Elgin 30 Jewel Automatic

Description: EXCELLENT condition. American made 30 jewel automatic (rare). The Elgin Caliber 760 has 6 adjustments and is known for several innovations It features a Durapower mainspring and incorporates Elgin's patented Durabalance system which is a free-sprung balance. A free-sprung balance does not use the conventional regulator pins or balance screws found in most mechanical movements. Instead, the spiral arms of the balance carry two weights, held in place by a spring (click here for a close up photo in another model we sold recently). If the spring is moved, it will cause the weights to follow the spiral arms and move in towards the hub (loss of moment) or out towards the rim (gain). This is a much better system than the old style regulator. Patek Philippe uses a similar method in their Gyromax balance. These rare movements also feature a two gear winding system, switching to a lower gear as the watch is more tightly wound. In addition, most jewels in watches past 23 are redundant or serve no purpose but the additional jewels in this movement are put to use in the innovative non-sprung bi-directional rotor. It is unique to the Caliber 760 and 761 along with several other patented proprietary inventions. Solid, fairly heavy slotted screw back construction but not too thick overall. Beautiful mint original dial, nearmint all original solid 10k gold case and has been gone through, cleaned up and checked out thoroughly by our watchmaker. A new Hadley Roma strap is included. Measures 33 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 9 mm thick. {$375} Item #4792 SOLD
