shape. Check it out on the close up page. Click on the image to the
left. The original dial (made of silver) looks a lot worse in this close
up photo than in person. A brand new Hadley Roma lizard grain

Very Nice Hamilton Automatic Date
Description:
VERYGOOD condition. This is one of the nicest vintage
affordable automatics we have had recently. It is very attractive with
an original silvered dial, gold plated middle body and sturdy slotted
screw on back. If you look closely you can see a faint mark or scratch
near the 8, otherwise it is mint. Swiss made automatic movement keeps
good time but no photo as the nice back is on very tight and I don't
want to risk scratching it. Old style quick set works by moving the hour
hand past midnight then back past nine and repeat. Looks really sharp in
person. For some reason the photos just look OK. A nice new
Hadley Roma genuine lizard skin 16 mm
strap is attached, a $25 value. Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the
crown) x 39 mm long x 10 mm thick.

Nice presentation on the back dated 1970. Nearmint original dial. Very
thin dress watch almost 40 years old but looking new. A nice black
Hadley Roma strap is installed. It is new. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the
crown) x 39 mm long x 8 mm thick.

Title:
Excellent 22 Jewel Hamilton
Description:
GOOD/VERYGOOD condition. Not sure which model this is but it
looks like a "Wilson" except it has 22 jewels instead of 17 which the
"book" has it as. Maybe someone will keep me straight with an e-mail.
Really nice unbuffed condition. No wear through of the yellow gold
filled case but it does have scuffs and one tiny ding on the side
opposite the signed Hamilton crown. I like this watch more than the
average Hamilton tank because of the larger size and magnificent shock
protected, adjusted high grade movement. Take a look by clicking on the
image to the left. By this time (mid to late 1950's) Hamilton was at the
top of it's game producing finely finished movements lasting for decades
if not centuries. Too bad they are no more (American made movements).
This watch has its original glass crystal, sterling silver dial and 14k
gold markers. The dial is perfect. The crystal has a couple of tiny
nicks around the 11 and 12 area. A brand new
Hadley Roma padded oil tan strap in attached. Measures 27 mm wide (not including the
crown) x 38 mm long x 10 mm thick.

Title:
Very Rare Long Curved 1930's Hamilton Linwood
Description:
GOOD condition. Hard to find and because of the extreme
shape nearly impossible to find without wear on the back corners. I
would not be shy about asking double if ours was without wear. Good deal
of it seen on the back edges of the long elegant curved and step sided
yellow gold filled case. Domed and curved dial is sterling silver and
has solid 18k gold markers (most Hamilton's have a silver dial with gold
markers). It is real sweet and has a star at 6. The crystal has some
crazing and there is an inscription on the back. Mint condition original
era pig skin strap could be original as these are thin lug widths and
hard to find. The old buckle is not signed and I can't read the strap
signature. Runs great with Hamilton's sturdy 17j Caliber 980 hand wound
American made movement. Measures 22 mm wide (not including the
crown) x 44 mm long x 10 mm thick.

Collectable Three Register Vintage Hamilton Chronograph
Description:
GOOD/VERYGOOD condition. Nice 1960's all steel round pusher,
screw back vintage Swiss chronograph with the original black and white
dial. Highly sought after dial color combination. No age on this
dial except slight and typical darkening of the lum dots and lum in the
hands. The Hamilton signed Caliber 640 (Valjoux 7736) keeps good time
and times perfectly with its 60 second center hand, 30 minute register
at three and 12 hour counter at six. Some funny dings on the original
signed crown and one pusher. See photo close-ups. Light scuffs and
nicks. A nice new 19 mm Rios Sport strap is included. Measures 36 mm wide (not including the

Yellow GF Hamilton Ashley
Description:
VERYGOOD condition. Our close-up photo of the front of this
watch (click on the image to the left) is way too close as you really
can't see the tarnish in person which shows up more pronounced in the
photos. Looks nearmint easily in person. It has been re-finished though
(the dial).
Some wear on the back, see photos. Restored by a friend and old timer
watchmaker. Signed crown and 19j American made Hamilton 982 movement.
Hamilton watch dials are made of silver and the numerals are gold. A
great starter watch or fun dress watch. Keep in mind that form watches
are not water or dust resistant. A brand new

is nice and has been lightly buffed. Found at an estate sale. Checked over
and cleaned (superficially) by our watchmaker. It has the original glass
crystal which is not seen often. It does have scratches on it. Original
dial is perfect. You have to see it in person to appreciate it. The CLD
under Hamilton stands for "sealed against dust and moisture". Original
crown and perfect 18j Caliber 748 hand wound American made movement.
This is much more water resistant than tank watches as it has a bowl

tarnish. Virtually no wear. Note: one of the ways we can find evidence
of a refinished dial is to examine the back. Here we see that the gold
dot indices have been removed for the paint job and replaced. See the

EXCELLENT condition. A very attractive solid yellow gold watch

buy it from you. This watch has an inscription on the back but it is
well done and overall no damage or much sign of age. From a collector
who has had it for many years. This is an extremely attractive piece

water resist might not be too accurate though. Aged original dial and
refinished (buffed) case with a few nicks still visible. This is a sweet

Description:
VERYGOOD/GOOD condition. From the original owner. Aged dial is silver

filled case is nice and "glom'ed" shut from years of never being opened.
This is a nice natural water and dust proof condition. Formed case
watches are not airtight, mostly from the stem area. Excellent case
condition, almost nearmint upon further examination. Original crown and
glass crystal (somewhat rare). Pigskin strap is exactly the kind of
strap used/sold with the watch and appears to be unmarked but the buckle
is signed. Probably contains Hamilton's 19j Caliber 982 (typical for
this model). It runs good and according to our timing machine is about

Big Automatic Hamilton Dive Watch
Description:
GOOD condition. In 15 years of collecting I have not seen
one Hamilton like this. It is heavy steel with a screw down crown.
The bakelite bezel has nicks and one crack which is at 47 minutes. The
case has not been buffed and appears to have been used by a working
diver. The one piece nylon strap is well worn and molded to the watch as
if it was used quite a bit. The dial has in part been refinished and
maybe in whole. The red indices are exaggerated and very bright as are
the hands. This has an automatic (probably ETA) movement with a quick
set day and date. The heavy screw back says tested to 10 atms or 330
feet and it is marked Hamilton. It is running fine and keeping good
time. Measures 40 mm wide (not including the
crown) x 45 mm long x 15 mm thick.

movement which has been fully serviced, oiled and timed. A new
black cord strap with white buckle is attached. It has been fully
serviced, oiled and timed. Original dial is colored but very nice for
the age of the watch. The original glass crystal has a scuff over the
"to" of Hamilton. The Hamilton text is perfect. Measures 14 mm wide
(not including the crown) x 29 mm long x 6 mm thick.

Description:
EXCELLENT condition. 1940's, long, gold and very pink.
The pink gold
case is marked 14k but not Hamilton (this is common for this genre of
Hamilton "contract" cases)/case designs. It rates about 90% with a few
very small dings and nicks. Pink unsigned crown. The dial has 15
diamonds and looks original but it may have been refinished some time
ago as it shows age and rates about 85%. Original hands including the
white subsidiary seconds hand which may have been done for a doctor to
easily read a patients pulse. The 17j American made Hamilton 980 Cal hand wound
movement has been fully serviced, oiled and timed. This are popular
vintage watches purchased by the elite during the 40's and they are
still one of the most collectible American wristwatches of the period.

Rare and Desirable Ladies Platinum and
Diamond Hamilton
Description: Well, maybe not so rare but
collectors quickly grab up platinum watches these days, even ladies
models. Certainly much more expensive in its day (1940's) than now.
Discounted heavily because of a dented back. Overall the condition is
80% or so with most of the deduction taken because of the perfectly
fitted, dented back. Fully signed with 48 diamonds. Original black cord
strap with signed/marked 14k white gold clasp (I've never seen a cord
strap with gold attachments). Slightly scuffed original glass
crystal. This piece is a large size for a ladies watch and looks great
on the wrist. The integrity of the case has not been compromised with
the dents/damage on the back. Retail would be $500-$750 in perfect
condition. Measures 14 mm wide (not including the signed crown)

Title:
Rare Hamilton Canteen or Bu-Ships Military
Issue Waterproof Antique
Description:
EXCELLENT condition. One
of the rarest vintage military watches ever made. Issue watches were
supposed to be turned in after duty so few survived for collectors. The
condition is good and there are no scratches on the 10-sided hex back.
It screws in place and I have not opened it for movement info for fear
of a scuff. It should have a hack set Caliber 987S according to Ziggy
(Z.M. Wesolowski, A Concise Guide To Military Timepieces). This watch
does hack and is keeping excellent time, showing less than 20 seconds
error per day according to the timing machine. Hamilton was the first
manufacturer to supply a diver’s watch to our Naval Combat Demolition
Teams in the early 1940's. They worked with the Navy's construction
battalions or Sea Bees clearing beach approaches of mines and other
obstacles. These teams were later re-named Underwater Demolition Teams
or UDTs. Hamilton developed this special watch with a cap, which screws
down over the winding stem and a thick glass crystal, which is soldered
into place. You can still see the solder on this crystal by clicking on
the picture to the left where the close up photos are. The dial is
in perfect condition and after close examination may be refinished. I
believe the hands are original. The dark black Hamilton signature is
characteristic of a frogman watch (same as the Elgin model) and can be
seen in the right light just under the center pinion. It is keeping very
good time and is on a modern period canvas strap like those from the
era. Measures 32 mm wide (not including the
crown) x 40 mm long x 13 mm thick.

parts, a steel snap on back, base metal middle body and snap on bezel.
Perfect original dial and little age seen on the case. Mid-grade No. 400
Hampden American made movement even keeps good time especially for its
age. 1930's or older. The serial number of the movement dates to about
1918 but it may have been re-cased as a wrist watch in the late 20's or
early 30's. Original crown and thin glass crystal. Pretty big
compared to other watches from the time period measuring 29 mm wide (not including the
crown) x 35 mm long x 9 mm thick. PS. Many of those high priced

Nearmint SS Black Dial 2 Reg. Helbros
Chronograph
Description: NEARMINT condition. One of the nicest versions of this genre I
have seen recently. Most often this type (1940's flat pusher snap back
chronograph) is found in gold plate or chrome plated base metal. This
watch is all steel
and formerly new old stock condition. I am calling it nearmint because
of some faint scuffs on the back and a couple of nicks, one on the bezel
at 10. All original including the box. The shiny Swiss made Helbros
Caliber 243 chronograph movement has 17 jewels and looks to me like it
was serviced once in the recent past. It runs and keeps good time and
all of the chronograph functions work perfectly. The small subsidiary
dial at 3 counts up to 30 minutes while the long center second hand
starts and stops for timing with the button at two. Reset with the other
button at 4. It should go without saying that
the original strap for this watch would be a real find as leather does
not survive 60 years quite like steel. Strap seen is a brand new Hadley
Roma black
leather strap with a stainless steel buckle. Measures 36 mm wide (not including the
crown) x 43 mm long x 12 mm thick.
