Title: Extra Nice Benrus Double Date Pointer w/Box Description: EXCELLENT condition. These small or medium (for vintage) sized watches are a great start for collectors who wish to focus on "complications". Mechanical movements with additional functions, besides telling time, are more difficult to design and build. So much so, that one of the ultimate complications which we take for granted now, the automatic chronograph, was not even invented until the 1960's. See one of these in this example of a Heuer/Buren micro-rotor. Heuer Carrera. Anyway, this is a good AFFORDABLE place to start your collection. This Benrus is original with some superficial age on the two part gold plated and stainless steel (snap on back) case, super nice original two tone silvered and beige dial, clean working Benrus hand wound movement with quick set day of the month hand (push in crown) and day of the week at noon. A new DeBeer Paris 16 mm strap and a Benrus box from the shop which matches the era (about 1950) is also included. The box is missing the small red velvet insert. Measures 30.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 36 mm long x 11.5 mm thick. {$269} Item #5914 SOLD
