Title: Very Nice Stainless Steel Bulova Astronaut, Circa 1965
Description: EXCELLENT condition. Sweet watch. Perfect original black dial. Nice, almost nearmint steel case with a near perfect timing bezel which can turn either direction although this one is pretty tight. Accutron watches were one of the first battery operated timepieces but instead of using a balance wheel (Hamilton Electrics) or a piece of quartz (invented later) they used an actual steel tuning fork to regulate the beat. You can hear it humming in a pleasant high pitch if you put it to your ear. Very accurate and our watchmaker checked it out completely. It is keeping good time. We have installed our nice Hadley Roma Kevlar style black strap with a steel buckle. Measures 38.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$475} Item #5048
