Title: Outstanding 1930's Cyma Tank Serviced

Description: VERYGOOD condition.  It is hard to find early examples of wristwatches with this many virtues. The condition is top notch for the age and shows only medium to mild use over the last 70 years. The white gold filled case is hinged at the north end and has deeply embossed bezel and sides. The tops of the small lugs are also engraved. Extra metal holds the movement in place and adds extra weight. The dial is perfect and extremely pleasing to look at. It has been professionally refinished as have the hands. Cyma was a company name under the Tavannes umbrella of watch co. names. Founded in 1891 by Henri Sandoz (1851-1913) after 20 yrs of success at the helm of his first company, Henri Sandoz and Cie., the Tavannes Watch Co. was known for many patents and new innovations including patents and contributions for repeaters (chiming watches), pocket chronometers (highly accurate pocket watches), marine chronometers (ships clocks), chronographs, extra thin movements, hermetic (waterproof) cases, metal dials, parts of all kinds and even their own shock protection devices. By the 1920's the Tavannes Watch Co., Tacy (short for Tavannes and Cyma) Watch Co. and Cyma Watch Co. were one of Switzerland's most productive and popular manufacturer's with offices in nearly every overseas market.  This watch has been fully serviced, oiled and timed. It is keeping great time and carrying a brand new 16 mm water resistant high grade Hirsch black leather strap. Measures 21.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 8 mm thick. {$325} Item #2929 SOLD DF
