Title: Affordable 16s Elgin Pocket Watch Circa 1899 AS FOUND Description: GOOD condition. Ever think that you could own a nice vintage watch this old for under $125? Often called a sidewinder because the movement and dial started life in a hunter case. The original single sunk porcelain dial has hairline cracks everywhere but looks nice at arms length with its Roman numerals. Gold filled screw back case is in decent shape but does have some brass showing near the bottom and edges. This is an American made 15j watch with a nice bi-metallic, split screw balance. It also has screwed down jewel settings and a safety pinion. Runs OK but might need cleaning as the balance is a bit sluggish. Glass crystal has light scuffs if you look closely. Set via the crown, not a lever set. Measures 50 mm wide. {$119} Item #5460 SOLD
