Title: Another Example of a Fake Omega

Description:  I really don't know what these dealers are thinking. This is from the other unscrupulous dealer up north and although he say's it is "not for sale" I am not sure why else he would post the watch knowing full well it was just made, here in America. In fact, he has two! Of course, Omega never made anything like this, the markings are inaccurate and the case work is of poor quality (not bad for a silversmith I guess but way below Omega's standard). We do know where these come from so this is not just conjecture. They have been made in significant numbers and pop up on ebay occasionally selling for around $300. The movement in the watch is an Omega movement and worth a few bucks but beyond that this is what I consider a novelty watch although I think the Omega symbol should be scraped out/off. Here is the dirty dealer's text from the watch. I am sure he is fishing for a private sale or two from this. "Here is a little something I just restored and wanted to share with all you Omega freaks. Sterling silver case signed Omega and the movement is the R-17 Omega cut off cornered movement. Circa 1940's. This is a manual wind and WOW did I pay for this one but well worth it. It's probably a prototype. Now you may SLURPPPP! all over the key board!" As you can see he represents this as an original "prototype" Omega even though he purchased them with the knowledge of their recent manufacture. Dishonest? You tell me. Caveat Emptor!
