Title: Rare and Collectable Glycine Airman 24hr Vintage Watch Description: VERYGOOD condition. This hard to find true 24hr time piece was often used by pilots and military men, especially in the Vietnam war. It has a unique hacking feature which is a thin wire that comes up through the dial between the 1 and 2 of 12. This wire stops the second hand so you can calibrate the time to atomic time or other wristwatches, for instance. Also has a 2nd hour hand which is opposite the hour hand and can show you 12 hour time. Finally, the second crown is a locking bezel device and it can make a third use of the extra hour hand for another time zone. For example, if it is noon here in the states and 6pm in London I would set the bezel at the smaller GMT hour hand at the 18 for 18 hundred hours/6pm and then all I need to do for London time is read the bezel where the GMT hand points. This model is one of the many vintage watches which has gone up in value quite a bit in the last 10 years. We sold this exact watch about 7 years ago, for about half, so the original owner is doing well reselling and making a nice profit. All steel with a screw on water proof back. Lots of scuffs, scratches and nicks mostly seen on the back, some on the middle body and lugs and a few on the bezel. Mostly not seen at all with the naked eye as the case has been lightly buffed. Real nice rotating bezel. Crowns are modern replacements. Runs great and remember, this watch only makes one revolution per 24hrs unlike normal time pieces which revolve twice each day. Measures 36 mm wide (not including the crown) x 46 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$1175} Item #5773 SOLD
