Title: Fantastic Omega Pie Pan Constellation Serviced
Description: NEARMINT condition. Rare condition which is not found easily. Mint original gold pie pan dial is to die for. Look at the close-up photos by clicking on the image to the left. Most pie pan dials are silvered, not gold. This is a two tone case which consists of a steel main body with a solid gold bezel, gold cap over the lugs and a solid gold constellation medallion on the back. We are able to compare the condition of each part (dial, case and movement) to determine originality of the watch as a whole. As the market becomes saturated with sellers (ebay) we find hundreds of examples in each genre of "put-togethers". Some make a career out of it. Dials of all types are surfacing which are almost indistinguishable from originals although they are newly made overseas. Purchased from an estate the only part of this watch which is not mint is the steel part of the back. A light inscription has been buffed out leaving the mint medallion showing no sign of wear. The caliber 550 movement is unused for the most part and has only been serviced once by our watchmaker. Notice its pristine condition and lack of burr marks on screw heads or washout. It has 24 jewels and has been fully serviced, oiled and timed. Mint signed eight sided crown with no wear. Mint signed acrylic crystal which had never been buffed. Mint dial with mint lum dots and mint hands, all original. Nearmint 167.005 gold and steel case which has had the steel portion of the back buffed. Circa 1964 with new seals also besides the service. A new $120 crocodile strap is attached. The condition of this fine high grade chronometer grade timepiece can not be overstated. Must see in person to appreciate.
