Title: Rare 18s Seth Thomas Model II PW, Circa 1887 Serviced Description: VERYGOOD condition. I really wish I had a fancy gold case for this gorgeous rare beauty. We don't change cases often but I would just keep it as this is one of the coolest open designs I've seen, especially for an American made watch. It has a large gold flashed mainspring barrel sticking right out there and a cut-out type nickel plated and damaskeened, blue screw 3/4 plate movement which has 15 jewels, a balance staff cap stone, fine regulation, blue screw chatons, large split bi-metallic compensated screw balance, Breguet overcoil blued hairspring and safety pinion. You can really see how the power of the mainspring transfers down the wheel train to the balance assembly. Decent gold filled box hinged hunter case does have a line of wear-through to brass on the front. An Elk is on the back. The original single sunk Seth Thomas signed porcelain dial is fantastic and looks perfect but under a loupe I found a semi-circular crack from the edge of the two to the edge of the three. This watch has been fully serviced, oiled and regulated. Measures 55 mm wide. {$575} Item #5297 SOLD
