The Caliber 285 UG hand wound movement warrants a higher price than Valjoux watches as it is unique to the UG brand and made in-house by Universal Geneve. Among other things the company is known for introducing the first "waterproof" and "snowproof" chronograph in 1933. It wasn't but it was a nice try. Near mint original dial. Three part chrome plated case with the snap on back (fully signed) made of steel. It has been fully serviced, oiled and timed by our watchmaker and runs like a champ. 17 jewels with a screw balance and Breguet hairspring. Late 1940's circa.
