Title: Hard to Find SS Vulcain Cricket Serviced Description: EXCELLENT condition. Really hard to find all steel version of a popular dress watch from the 1960's. The Vulcain Cricket can be seen in photos worn by Lyndon Johnson and this is the original version of the modern Revue Thommen Cricket alarm watches which we see in the market place, mostly in the EU. The dial is original. Some spotting and general wash out type loss of color. Having said all that, I've been looking at the watch on my wrist and it looks pretty sharp. The case is almost nearmint and has its original finish for the most part. It had not been buffed before Wayne hit it very lightly. Original signed crown. New acrylic crystal and what may have been the exact some style of mesh bracelet seen on these back then although many wore the hair pulling Speidel expansion or a leather strap. This bracelet was found on this watch but is not signed Vulcain. It is plenty long enough for modern chunky wrists and adjustable to any length. Wayne also serviced, oiled and timed the in-house Vulcain caliber 12 O hand wound movement. The dial looks better than the close-up photos and better than my general description. At more than a foot the eye sees a faint tan-ish hue instead of the pasty white in these photos. In its original position, turning the crown clockwise winds the alarm while turning it backwards or counterclockwise winds the mainspring for the movement. Pull out and turn COUNTER CLOCKWISE to set the hands, hour and minute. With the crown fully depressed/natural position, push in on the button at two and turn the crown CLOCKWISE to set the alarm hand. Pushing the crown back in activates the alarm. Push the button in slightly and the crown will pop out to a neutral position and alarm will not activate. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 12.5 mm thick. Comes with a one year service warranty! {$575} Item #5975 SOLD
