Title: Hand Made and One of a Kind Watch School Vintage Chrono Serviced Description: EXCELLENT/NEARMINT condition. This beautiful steel chronograph was made by student #932 aka Werner Siegrist in the winter of 1963. The school was UHRMACHERSCHULE Solothurn or Solothurn Watchmakers School in Switzerland which is what it says on the perfect (refinished) dial. The unique two piece steel case is held together with four well placed screws (back of the lugs). The best part of this watch is the one of a kind Valjoux SA Caliber 23 chronograph movement. It is unique because the screwed balance was hand made by Werner. It has a Breguet hairspring and is Incabloc shock protected. The escapement axle was also hand made along with the stem. The surface of the bridges/plates were decorated with a special finish and with the students number. The movement was timed to with-in chronometer grade time at the school. Right now it is a few seconds fast according to the timing machine. Eight watches were made at the Solothurn school that year, each one unique to the maker. Who knows how many still exist? This watch was fully serviced, oiled and timed in June, 2004 by the owner. It comes in a heavy wooden Glycine box and has a nice new 18 mm black leather strap. Measures 35.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$875} Item #3907 SOLD SS
