Wyler Center Second Tank in Steel

EXCELLENT condition.

Hand wound Swiss watch with a nice overall look and original Radium dial. Probably sold around 1947 or 1948 and my guess is that a quality steel waterproof watch like this would be $60 or $70 back then, more than a gold filled, snap back tank for sure. Called "The Defender" it uses an ETA 1090 caliber movement with 17 jewels, shock protection and a serial number of 2230521, probably Wyler ser.#. If I recall, Wyler had a special balance which absorbed shock and was marketed as more robust. The case #192647/3246. All steel in a waterproof design, called waterproof and water tested at the time.. Pretty old so I wouldn't try getting it wet now although it may be fine. Wayne has gone through it and regulated the timing.  .

Measures 23 mm wide (not including the crown) x 35 mm long x 9 mm thick.

{$189} Item #6343
