Title: Fantastic Omega Pie Pan Constellation Serviced

Description: NEARMINT condition. Rare condition which is not found easily. Mint original gold pie pan dial is to die for. Look at the close-up photos by clicking on the image to the left. Most pie pan dials are silvered, not gold. This is a two tone case which consists of a steel main body with a solid gold bezel, gold cap over the lugs and a solid gold constellation medallion on the back. We are able to compare the condition of each part (dial, case and movement) to determine originality of the watch as a whole. As the market becomes saturated with sellers (ebay) we find hundreds of examples in each genre of "put-togethers". Some make a career out of it. Dials of all types are surfacing which are almost indistinguishable from originals although they are newly made overseas. Purchased from an estate the only part of this watch which is not mint is the steel part of the back. A light inscription has been buffed out leaving the mint medallion showing no sign of wear. The caliber 550 movement is unused for the most part and has only been serviced once by our watchmaker. Notice its pristine condition and lack of burr marks on screw heads or washout. It has 24 jewels and has been fully serviced, oiled and timed. Mint signed eight sided crown with no wear. Mint signed acrylic crystal which had never been buffed. Mint dial with mint lum dots and mint hands, all original. Nearmint 167.005 gold and steel case which has had the steel portion of the back buffed. Circa 1964 with new seals also besides the service. A new $120 crocodile strap is attached. The condition of this fine high grade chronometer grade timepiece can not be overstated. Must see in person to appreciate. Comes with a one year service warranty. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$1675} Item #5249

Title: Gorgeous Two Tone Omega Pie Pan Constellation

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Original pie pan dial is nice but not perfect. It has tiny bubbles which are just large enough to be visible with the naked eye if you look very close. In person the overall appearance is fantastic appearing near mint. The 24j chronometer grade Omega Caliber 561 is shock protected and appears to have been serviced half a dozen times at least with a few scuffs and burr marks on screw heads. It keeps great time and functions properly. Solid gold bezel, lug caps and observatory are in very nice shape not having been over buffed. Crown is signed and may be a later gold filled replacement. It is large and easy to grip. We are including a free Service for this watch useable at any time and a $75 value (two week wait if wanting before shipment). A brand new Hadley Roma genuine crocodile strap and authentic gold plated vintage Omega buckle is included too!  Measures 34.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$1175} Item #5097

Title: Two Tone Omega Pie Pan Constellation

Description: VERYGOOD condition. A beautiful completely original timepiece from an estate. Dial, crystal, crown, movement and case all born together. Even the seal looks like the original. We can change the seal and crystal if you like as there is a small nick in the crystal near the magnifier. Solid gold bezel and thick gold cap over the steel body. No scratches or other signs of overuse on the case. The original pie pan dial shows bubbling of the lacquer, not uncommon but significantly less valued for this. At arms length it looks like frost. Signed Omega crystal. Signed 10 sided Omega crown. The 24j Caliber 561 movement runs great and keeps good time. The case back reference number is 14902-62-SC and has three service marks from (what I can tell) 1975, 1988 and 2005. We have a real nice dark brown Hadley Roma 895 installed. Measures 35.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 42 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$975} Item #5224

Title: Wonderful 14k YGF Omega Seamaster with Cupped Bezel

Description: NEARMINT condition. Sweet unbuffed case condition. Mint original dial is a real stunner. Rare case design has scuffs and some small nicks on the outside of the cool reflective bezel and might grade a little lower than nearmint. There is a presentation, done well on the back which has not been buffed either and has its original circular sand marks/finish. Click on the image to the left for close-up shots. The Omega Caliber 563 full rotor automatic movement has 17 jewels, a Glucydur screwless balance, 50 hour power reserve, Incabloc shock resistance, 19,800 bph and swan's neck fine regulation. Signed crown, strap and buckle. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$490} Item #5101

Title: 1968 Tudor Submariner Serviced

Description: EXCELLENT condition. This is what I call a $1000 lesson. The lesson, given to my customers will cost us 1k compared to what most if not all the other dealers out there would do. Most would call this nearmint and report a refinished dial or maybe not even say that. Further inspection would reveal a new dial and a new insert or bezel. I've decided to report this information to my customers, telling it like it is and ask half price. If you do a search you'll see original reference 7016 Tudor subs selling for $2400 and up. The case on this watch is nearly mint as you can see in the photos and is marked properly. The correct ETA caliber 2483 automatic movement has 25 jewels and is marked Montres Tudor, SA Geneva on the rotor as it should be. It keeps good time but is at the watchmakers shop for service. A gorgeous Hadley Roma python strap is attached as is a new Hadley Roma solid link steel bracelet. Please do not buy this if you plan on reselling it as completely original. Measures 40 mm wide (not including the crown) x 47 mm long x 15 mm thick. {$1275} Item #5264 HOLD

Title: Fantastic Rare Longines AllGuard

Description: NEARMINT condition. Just a wonderful large watch in superb condition. All original and unbuffed. Plenty of light scuffs like what you might expect for a watch of this age, different from most watches sold by dealers who buff the dickens out of everything. This is a Conquest case, for the most part and the precursor for the Conquest. Same body and thick back except there is no fancy gold and enamel logo. Original crown and gorgeous in-house Caliber 19AS early automatic movement. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 43 mm long x 12 mm thick. {$545} Item #5057 SOLD

Title:10k Yellow Gold American Made Hamilton Masterpiece Serviced

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Sweet dress watch in solid gold with an inscription/presentation on the back of the two piece case. Movement comes out through the front. Original silvered dial is very nice but does have a brown mark between the 4 and 5. Nearly mint condition at a glance and carrying an American made Hamilton Cal 770 which has 22 jewels and has been fully serviced, oiled and timed by our watchmaker. A brand new Hirsch strap is attached. Signed crown. Comes with a one year service warranty. Measures 32 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 8 mm thick. {$329} Item #5172

Title: Nice Eterna-matic 3000 w/Gold Bezel

Description: NEARMINT condition. Notable version of the world's leader in movement manufacture. Eterna SA was the parent company of ETA. The Eterna-matic 3000 continued to make revolutionary achievements with its 1453 series. It was the thinnest center second w/date automatic in the world when made, ca. 1962. The watch is only 5 mm thick, not including the acrylic crystal. This is a Caliber 1455 U which has 21 jewels, a bi-directional ball bearing rotor, Glucydur screwless balance, Nivarox hairspring, patented Eterna U-shock resistance, 18,000 bph, 50 hour power reserve and fine regulator adjustment. The crown has been replaced. One of our finest Hadley Roma straps is attached. It is one of The Collection series HR2000 retailing for $49.95. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x 8.5 mm thick. {$329} Item #5073

Title: Heavy SS Eterna Sonic Electronic

Description: NEARMINT condition. Neat extra heavy steel bracelet which is only medium or short length. Common for older watches as we were quite a bit smaller, even 40 years ago. On average we were not so fat, certainly. The watch measures 7 and 1/2 inches long but probably fits a 7 inch wrist or smaller. Links can be removed. Most would call this new old stock as I don't think it has  been used or worn much, but there are numerous scuffs here and there. The finish is original and has not been buffed out. The glass crystal is is a bit foggy and the seal underneath has liquefied. This is a tuning fork movement which hums like an Accutron when running. My watchmaker's eyes nearly popped out if his head when he saw it as it is extremely high grade and very expensive. He said that in the old days when replacement movements were still available the cost was $200 each! It has the original signed crown and signed bracelet which is the same design seen on the Breitling Transocean. Measures 37.5 mm wide (not including the crown) x 37.5 mm long x 11 mm thick. {$425} Item #5260 HOLD

Title: Two Tone Omega Hand Wind

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Nice affordable steel and gold 1961 vintage Omega time piece. Refinished dial looks decent. New unsigned GF crown and acrylic crystal. Gold bezel and cap on the lugs. Pink hand wound Omega Caliber 600 runs great and has been checked over by our watchmaker. A brand new Hadley Roma oil tan strap is attached. Gold or steel buckle, your choice. Measures 34 mm wide (not including the crown) x 40 mm long x  mm thick. {$229} Item #5171 SOLD

Title: 18k Yellow Gold Patek Philippe Ref. 3411

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Sweet affordable (for a PP) timeless vintage watch, Circa 1963. Original silvered dial is fantastic without flaw except for some gray fading near the edges, mostly seen under the seven and some also seen on the edge from one to four and near the top. The case has been buffed a few times and has some very faint nicks on the bezel, seen with a 10x loupe. Heavier than most gold watches with a signed PP crown and archive paper from Patek which confirms the correct and matching (matching their records) movement and case numbers. The Caliber 27SC is one of the worlds prettiest movements as you can see by clicking on the image to the left. Our pictures don't really capture its full beauty. The SC does stand for center second and this model has one, just not this watch. It has been professionally removed and the seconds pinion capped as you can see in the photos. This was often done for special owners to give a distinctive look, different than the other models. It does simplify the dial and we can add a second hand back if you prefer. Not all are shock protected but this one is and that means that a slight knock or jar will not damage your balance staff. Signed strap and 18k yellow gold buckle. A quick market evaluation places this model at 10k retail and higher. Much higher in Europe where the dollar is depressed. Even ebay which is a wholesale market just sold this watch, reference 3411 for more than what we are asking. Ebay does not offer a refund or return policy or any protection of any kind.  It is keeping excellent time consistently showing less than 10 seconds error per day in all positions. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 41 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$8675} Item #5255

Title: Wonderful Large Sterling Silver Porcelain Dial Waltham, Ca. 1904

Description: VERYGOOD condition. Extra nice large silver wire lug from the early part of the 20th century. Called a Lady Waltham and marked on the movement this high grade pocket watch movement was converted in the teens probably to a wristwatch. Considered originals and having a superb unmarred porcelain dial. The hands are original too and have had new lum inserted by our watchmaker. The Arabic numerals also would have had luminescent material in them back in the day. Most of these early wire lug watches had less expensive movements. This gorgeous 17j Lady Waltham has solid gold raised jewel settings, a solid gold center wheel, large gold screw balance wheel and a fancy star regulator. It is not marked how many jewels but I can count at least 17. The balance is capped with what appears to be a diamond (clear, not red) capstone or endstone. There is an inscription on the back, Dr. Frank Thomas. The crystal is perfect and glass. Measures 33 mm wide (not including the crown) x 33 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$395} Item #5230

Title: All Steel Citizen Echo-drive

Description: EXCELLENT condition. Nice timepiece with the famous Eco-drive movement which does not need to be wound or using batteries. The sun or light powers it. Cool blue dial and steel case and bracelet. Well made with only a few faint scuffs on the clasp side of the bracelet. Smaller or medium wrist sized bracelet. Measures 28 mm wide (not including the crown) x 38 mm long x 9 mm thick. {$119} Item #4869 HOLD

Title: 14k Longines w/Diamond Dial Serviced

Description: VERYGOOD condition. A very attractive early 1950's solid 14k yellow gold Longines with an in-house Caliber 9LSwiss made 17j movement which is one of the more attractive you might see anywhere featuring a screw balance, fancy regulator and gold jewel settings to mention a few virtues. It has also been fully serviced, oiled and timed by our watchmaker and comes with a one year warranty. The case is nice with a few small nicks here and there. Original dial has some spots which appear more noticeable in our large photos. There are three small diamonds and two larger ones on the dial and we have added a $50 genuine Teju lizard skin strap. Measures 24 mm wide (not including the crown) x 37 mm long x 9 mm thick. {$475} Item #5261

Title: Nice Steel 1960's Eternamatic Centenaire "61"

Description: EXCELLENT condition.  Awesome looking watch, Circa 1962. Eterna's own in-house movement, Caliber 1438-U keeps excellent time and has been checked over by our watchmaker for accuracy. The 1400 series is very similar to Eterna's 1200 series which was the first rotor auto. It features a Glucydur screw balance, Nivarox hairspring, Eterna-U shock resistance and a stainless steel ball bearing rotor which winds in both directions via a patented click wheel switcher, 18,000 bph and a power reserve of 44 hours. A 1961 Eterna add reads, "This is Centenaire-61 climaxing a century of achievement by Eterna Matic. This most advanced self-winding watch of the world is a masterpiece of technical superiority and fabulous looks - thin profile, hidden crown and automatic date indicator - and its automatic accuracy is beyond compare." A brand new Hadley Roma oil tan strap with matching stainless steel buckle is attached. Measures 35 mm wide (not including the crown) x 41 mm long x 10 mm thick. {$275} Item #5259 HOLD

Title: Example Of Fake Omega Seamaster 300

Description: This is a Seamaster  one piece case (genuine) with a refinished or new (not original) Seamaster 300 dial. Sold by another greedy, unscrupulous watch dealer north of the border as an "early Seamaster 300" and at about three times the cost for a plain ol' Seamaster. First we check previous Omega Seamaster 300's and their history to determine the case style and the case reference numbers. They have divers cases, not thin one piece Seamaster cases. Look here for an example...LINK.  And the reference numbers won't match either. Then we notice that the dial has been refinished. Looking at the finer detail in the text we can see inconsistencies and just a general sloppiness with the tiniest print. So, if you have a watch or are looking at a watch which has a refinished dial then you must assume the original dial was not as you see it. For instance, many dealers will refinish a plain Jane (say Omega) dial and have it done with additional text like "Tiffany and Co." This adds value from their perspective yet in reality the conscientious buyer will not want a "put together" timepiece which is historically inaccurate. This is a "put-together" Omega which was made to deceive the customer. This is the worst kind of theft. When one buys a fake, cheaply made Rolex or Omega one knows it is junk but...with a watch like this we see pure deception. We posted this watch on Watchnet.com in the Deal Watch section which is for complaints. Watchnet removed all links. The dealer who sold the watch to a friend and customer pretty much explained it away like this... quote from e-mail "Roman dials are sold on Oyster cases. We all sell them as re-dials. No one is trying to rip anyone off." Derik Dick. Let me explain how this is dirty. When you re-finish a dial you MUST refinish "as original" or you must disclose to your clients what the original dial was. For instance, the dealer calls California bubbleback dials Roman but he means a California dial. A very rare original BB dial with half Arabic numerals and half Roman. To refinish a stick dial or plain BB dial to a Cally dial is dishonest if you don't reveal the original details. He claims to have sold the watch as a Seamaster with a refinished dial. Not according to the buyer who lost several hundred bucks on the deal. He thought and was given the impression the watch was an original Seamaster 300. Not out of line with his character this dealer also included a fake Omega strap, fake Omega base metal buckle and fake Omega crown, all marked but made in Asia. Of course, he did not disclose this fact to the buyer. Finally, the piece was sold as serviced but it does not run accurately and was dirty. Another dishonest crook simply out for profit. OK, enough of this but you should know that the old saying "Buy the Dealer" is more important than you might think. Call or e-mail us if you want the dirty dealers website. There are a pair of them up north which operate with the principles I have described. Often changing dials to fit a more expensive watch and who knows what else. Finally, if you would like to lend support to our effort in this issue or just the website in general you can post on Watchnet's "Good Guys" forum. A couple of customers have already posted there. {value $250} Buyer paid over three times that. Not for sale.

Title: Another Example of a Fake Omega

Description:  I really don't know what these dealers are thinking. This is from the other unscrupulous dealer up north and although he say's it is "not for sale" I am not sure why else he would post the watch knowing full well it was just made, here in America. In fact, he has two! Of course, Omega never made anything like this, the markings are inaccurate and the case work is of poor quality (not bad for a silversmith I guess but way below Omega's standard). We do know where these come from so this is not just conjecture. They have been made in significant numbers and pop up on ebay occasionally selling for around $300. The movement in the watch is an Omega movement and worth a few bucks but beyond that this is what I consider a novelty watch although I think the Omega symbol should be scraped out/off. Here is the dirty dealer's text from the watch. I am sure he is fishing for a private sale or two from this. "Here is a little something I just restored and wanted to share with all you Omega freaks. Sterling silver case signed Omega and the movement is the R-17 Omega cut off cornered movement. Circa 1940's. This is a manual wind and WOW did I pay for this one but well worth it. It's probably a prototype. Now you may SLURPPPP! all over the key board!" As you can see he represents this as an original "prototype" Omega even though he purchased them with the knowledge of their recent manufacture. Dishonest? You tell me. Caveat Emptor!
