Description: The finest pocket watch we have seen here at the site this superb example of Swiss watch making has been fully serviced, oiled and timed by a MASTER WATCHMAKER. It is fully marked on all lids. The JJ signature is seen on the front lid. I'll add a close-up of it. Also, all 18k hallmarks. Signed No. 106 on the case in three places. Inside front cover, inside back cover, outside on the hinged gold cuvette which has an engine turned border and patent 1867, January 15 , inside of the cuvette and on the movement. This authenticates the case as original to the movement. The movement is highly jeweled. I count 31. The engine turned front and back covers have mostly worn smooth. There was some light work done on the front cover hinge. Not noticeable except to a trained eye. The front cover spring is tight and it opens to 90 degrees. The single sunk porcelain dial is signed and mint except for one sub-millimeter sized chip at about the 3(on the very edge and difficult to see even with a 10X loupe). The movement looks very good with a minimum number of light scratches and burr marks on screw heads. It functions like a dream. At 3:17 you will hear 3 "hour" gongs followed by one "quarter" gong followed by two "minute" gongs. The minute gongs increase to three as soon as the subsidiary seconds hand passes 12. Extraordinary! The watch is set by moving the bow down toward the dial. With light pressure one can then set the time using the crown. This is a VERY HEAVY piece. 18 Size(52mm) $12,500 Item #1935 SOLD SP
