The watch arrived Monday afternoon in fine shape. I wanted to try it on and let it run for a bit before writing, just to be sure it was "in the ballpark" for what I was expecting. I'm no expert by any means, but in my humble opinion it seems to be everything I imagined it to be. In fact, it exceeds my expectations. Whoever refinished the dial did such a great job that it looks absolutely brand new. It winds and sets like honey (can I say that?) and the accuracy is excellent, even phenomenal for a watch that is 50 years old. It has a refined, simple profile that is deceiving, because it feels heavier and more substantial on my wrist than expected. I don't mean this as a criticism at all. The case is not just a thin amount of gold and it is solid as well as beautiful. I wanted to let you know that I am completely satisfied, in fact very pleased with the watch and you can consider the sale as "final". This watch collecting can be very addicting! I can honestly say that there are several watches and pocket watches you have for sale that I would love to have. Can I afford any of them? Probably not, but maybe I can start a little fund so that every once in a while I can indulge myself. Anyway, I want you to know that I would buy from you again gladly and without reservation. I just wanted to let you know the Elgin came on Monday in fine shape. It's a beautiful watch and is even nicer in person, although your photography is always great (If you and my boss only knew how much time I spend looking at your website...). Anyway, I just thought it would be good manners to tell you I was happy with the watch rather than not reply and leave you wondering. This one really feels nice on the wrist. I really admire the Longines I bought from you a few weeks back, but this watch rides on my arm like it belongs there (as a timepiece aficionado, I think you know what I'm saying!). I am trying to quit smoking and if successful, it only seems fair that with the money I'll be saving on cigarettes, not to mention possible medical bills, I will be able to afford another watch. If I make it through 10 days the worst will definitely be over. Would it be too presumptuous for me to ask you to hold a watch for that long? I have my eye on the Hamilton 14K with the 770 movement you just listed. If you can't hold it, do you have another Hamilton 770, so hopefully one of them will still be around if I make it! I really like this watch! Even my better half (Evelyn) says she likes it (she is a lot tougher than me, so that is saying something). Well, how many does this make now, four? I have this odd feeling it won't be the last one either. Sigh. I need to make more money to feed my addictions! I still have my eye on that Bulova with the neat lugs and Hebrew writing on the back although a voice in my head keeps saying "Omega...you must have an Omega..." Got that watch.  This watch looks brand new.  I mean, it looks literally brand new.  Not that it matters, but has this face been redone?  Even the crystal looks like it's not been worn, it's perfect.  Probably the most perfect watch I've bought.  I love it, but I was just curious.  I don't care if it's been redone, but it looks like that watch has been in a shoebox for 30 years.  If you get anymore watches like this give me a call.

Got the watch.  Okay, here's the deal.  I have bought watches from several people over the internet.  Several of them.  They describe them a certain way.  I get them in I send them back.  They just don't go the way they're described.  You sold me 2 watches and they have been exactly what you said they are.  I just wanted to let you know I am 200% happy here.  This watch, the other guy was also describing the dial and he described it perfectly.  So, I'm not going to buy watches from anyone else!  This is good, it's nice and I can't believe the price.  Quite frankly, You're too cheap.  I hope you make some money, buy a Corvette and swimming pool.  Quite frankly I think they're worth more.

Just writing to let you know I received the Hamilton cal.770 in the mail yesterday. Love it! This watch looks even better than your pictures led me to think. I can't imagine the guy who was given this watch ever wore it much, it really does look practically new. The wind and tick of the movement is crisp and solid, and at 32mm and an elegantly thin 8mm it is a perfect size for what I was looking for. The new band and particularly the service guarantee add to the value of this piece for me, since I would have spent additional money on these myself. I really appreciate your price, I feel like I got a real value for a fully-serviced, well-designed, sold gold watch. Most interesting exchange. I waited until the other "blowhard" was in a group with many of my friends, and casually showed him my watch. His reaction was classic: his first words were "must be a fake" to which I responded "yours or mine?", he turned abruptly and walked away, to the laughter of the group. Obviously, he never gave me time to tell him where I found the watch and I doubt he'll bring up the subject again! The watch keeps perfect time, better than my Rolex!

I see you have found another SEELAND wrist watch, #2801 which is marked HOLD, SALE PENDING.  I have a very good friend who is a retired watchmaker and after I received my SEELAND with wind indicator from you I had MAX look it over. He unscrewed the back and was really impressed with the movement and the way the extra gears, wheels, worked to turn the wind indicator. He knew of the movement as it was used in many different watches made by IWC but he had never seen a SEELAND and especially one with a wind indicator. His guess is that if I put it up for silent auction at the Spring Watch Show in Wichita that by 5:00PM is would have a bid of $300 to $400 due to the condition and the fact it has the wind indicator. It really does keep really great time and I do appreciate the new brown band you placed on the watch before shipping to me.  I have passed on your site information to my youngest son Tom who lives in St. Louis. He is looking for some good vintage watches to wear at work so he may be contacting you in the future.  Again, thank you for a great watch site and super service.

Thank you for the watch. It runs great. Sometimes I use it on run between Oakland and Sacramento on Amtrak's Capitol Corridor. Watches cannot be 30 seconds behind or ahead by railroad rules. Watch seems to be working just fine. I have not seen one in years and it is just as beautiful as I remember it. By the way, I did some clean up of the entire watch, including the crystal, with Flitz. It seems to have gotten all the small imperfections out and really made the entire piece shine. If you have not tried this stuff, you might want to give it a shot.

I tried clean it but it did not come off. Since it was on part of the link that had a brushed finish (not polished) I careful buffed it out with some fine steel wool. It looks perfect now. Possibly the manufacturer applies the brushed finish with a brass bristled brush. I am glad it worked because I am very pleased with the watch. Any future of your selling dress/formal watches of this quality at this price point?

I received the Datejust yesterday, and I've worn it for about 24 hours. I stopped by my watchmaker today and had him look it over internally and run it in a few different positions on his Vibrograf.  The watch keeps near-chronometer time in all positions checked, with no errors and a very flat graph. The movement is immaculate and obviously serviced in the recent past. The watch head is cosmetically very good. The bracelet is near-maximum stretch, but otherwise fine. The watch passed a vacuum pressure test.  I'm a very happy customer. Your price was fair, and your service could not be better. Amazingly fast service...Curvex arrived today. And what a packing job!
She seems to be running well (timing it out now), the 10k gold filled case is to die for...looks like 18k solid. The rear case could double as a vanity mirror, it is so shiny and unscratched. The dial has seen better days, as befits her age (1940-1945??), but is presentable enough for daily wear (the "blotches" show up only under the loupe)--some brassing on the hands, but the hands are so tiny that this doesn't matter...the crystal, however (the Achilles heel on vintage watches) is beautiful. This watch still has some years left in her. My watchmaker has taught me how to regulate the movement on vintage pieces, to speed them up or slow them down as required, but I will not open the case on this one until we've run out our three day return period. The watch isn't perfect, but for the price sold at and its age, it is a very good deal.
I will be back in touch by Sunday Noon (my time) to "sign off" on the return period, but I generally know right away if I am keeping a piece or not and this one is a "keeper".

It is better looking "in person" than the photograph represents (even as good as your web site's photographs are...and they are good indeed...superior to watch photos on many other sites).
